Mesa Boogie Walkabout

I almost bought Walkabout twice on eBay 
But the problem is that they can't be easily converted for 230V. I've asked my local Mesa service and they said that I would have to change transformer which costs around $400-450. I can also buy external transformer, but it would be as big as Walkabout itself ;/

FWIW, I've been experimenting with my Walkabout based on this thread. I normally have the mids maxed (as I thought that was 'flat') but at tonight's gig I rolled them back to about 9 o'clock, leaving bass and treble at 12. My tone was so much more defined... it was great before, it's even better now. I think I was drowning it in mids previously...

I do have the 4ohm version myself because my main intent was to use it mostly as a stand alone combo. The 8ohm version only puts out ~165w which limits the usefulness stand alone IMO.
OTOH, the 8ohm version pairs well with an 8ohm ext cab to deliver the full rated 300w the WA has to offer.
Many here (including myself) use the 4ohm version at either 2.67 or 2ohms with 8 or 4ohm extensions with no problems. So, it seems to me that the 4ohm version offers more flexibility.
