was wondering if anyone thinks i'd have a problem using one of the older mesa diesel 4x10s with a low c (tuned up from a b). i love the cab but understand that it doesn't go all that low and am worried that if i need to turn up much that the 30-40hz range could start to fart everything else out and yet not even be audible anyway. i used to have an ampeg 8x10 and it was ok, but then again it was sealed so i assume that helped control speaker excursion. i'm not all that worried about losing a fundamental just don't want to damage the irreplaceable evm or need to turn up on a gig i find alot of mud due to the speaker trying to reproduce those lows. any insight would be very helpful. thank you.

mesa diesel 4x10 for 5 string?

I have a Diesel 4x10 (the 'Deep' version), and it is great on 5-string electric bass. It's heavy as all get out, but it sounds great! 
thank you tom. i have the shallow version with the small front square ports so if i'm assuming correctly and my physics is right then i should have less lows but more controlled low end....sorta halfway between what you have and a sealed cab.?.? if that would be your assessment then i'm gonna stop worrying cuz like i say i'm not too worried about the fundamental being heard just that it not muddy up the rest of the spectrum or overwork something not made for that. our cabs should have the same drivers though so if anything my shallow cab and small ports would even protect my drivers more than yours and if yours is happy then.... what would you say to my assessment?

ps i've been reading your posts on here and have been very impressed wih your answers to others questions as so far none of your answers have broken the laws of physics or outright contradicted information that i already know to be fact (like any question ever asked at any guitar center in the known universe). again thanks. i may be a bit neurotic but i love my cab too, why electro voice discontinued the 10 and the 15 is utterly beyond my comprehension. their website acts as if they never even existed.
