Hey Rob,long time.I didnt know you were getting into one of these too.I also use it with a Berg HS410.Personally,I love having the power when I need it,and when I dont,I know its there.I did what you did.I started with the gain past 12:00 to try to add some warmth but realized this amp is warm already.I seem to be comfortable with it at 10:00.And there is headroom for days. For fun at soundcheck I wanted to see what this thing would do so I cranked it WAY up.The bartender at the other side of the room came to me and said the glasses on the bar were vibrating.
Im going into my second week with mine.Love it so far.Played last night and took my FBN5.Didnt like it as much with the M9 as I did my Lakland.I really want to try this amp at 2ohm.Ill probably never run it this way on a gig,but again I like knowing I can if ever needed.
So....One thing to mention.Im 5 gigs into this amp and I frequently check to see how warm it runs during the night. Its never even felt warm on top of the unit. This amp is for sure a keeper for me.
I rolled several thru the M6 with no noted change.
I'd expect the M9 to behave the same.
Cool!
You can sure try and report back!
Just heard from Mesa today! My M9 is fully retrofitted, stress tested and will be en route back by tomorrow. Just might have her back before Christmas. Its been a long wait and I really miss this amp.
HI
Thanx guys for responding. I really liked it. My nephew is the guitarist in my other band and was at the show that night just taking a listen. He told me it had a great punchy tone and really filled up the room. He thought is stood out more than my previously head. Good to know. Im sure Ill love it for a long time.
One question. I have it in a 2 space gig bag type rack. It felt kinda hot at the end of the night. Would I be better off getting a 3 or 4 space rack for ventilation sake?
Rob
HI
Thanx for the response. Was hoping this was typical and it was the amp running hot or needing maintenance. How heavy are the Mesa head cases?
Rob
