For all in-tents and porpoises, I run mine more or less flat.
On voice 3 ("flat") I'll boost treble a hair, cut mids a hair, and leave bass alone.
On voice 2 (bass and treble boost) I'll but bass and treble a hair, and boost mids a hair.
GEQ I use for problem bass/cab/room flaws.
Compressor I generally have set at 9 oclock on both, but if the bass seems out of proportion to the rest, I'll up the ratio.

I had the gain set at about 1 O' Clock and the master around 2 /1/2 maybe 3 tops (out of 10) and this thing is stupid loud!! I almost think it may be louder at this setting than the Titan was!
I asked this question in the M9 settings thread that I started but no one seems to want to post in that thread for some reason. Here is the question. I read in the manual that the gain setting can have a big influence on your sound. Where do you guys run your gain in relation to your master volume??

I generally run input gain between noon and one, and master at about 9 oclock.
I never ever use the active pad, even with very hot basses, and this holds true on my Walkabout as well.

Holy cow-Ive never ran mine that hot.Like Chef,I run my gain at 1 and master as needed-usually around 9.I think I got it up to 10 once!:D

I meant to say that the gain was at 1 O'clock and the master was about 2 1/2 (out of 10). My brain left me for a minute there - Lol. I edited the post to correct my error.

What kind of cabs do you guys run with your M9?? I love the Uber 410 with mine , but I may want to add another cab down the road for my outdoor gigs. I'm leaning towards another Uber 410 or Uber 212. Possibly a PH410 or PH212 to go with my Uber 410.

I run:
Epi UL410
LDS 2 x 2x8 stack or 2x8+4x8 stack
GK 2 x 112 stack

I have a big outdoor thing coming in May with "probably not enough PA," and I think I'll put the UL410 on the bottom, and the LDS 4x8 on top.

A few pages back I posted my current and ever changing EQ points and it's been working great for me.
I run mine with dual Mesa PH212 cabs and it's a killer combo.
I also used to have the PH412 but even for a big dude like me, having to hoist that thing up into an SUV alone is just asking for back issues which I definitely came across when I had it. The modular rig works better than i thought as two basses, gig bag, pedalboard, stand I can't make it all in two trips anyway so the cabs just count as dollies and now I can make load in with only 2 trips.

Awethat sounds more like it.I was thinking you had some kind of Super Cabs to take that abuse!

So far I uses it with a Berg HS410,Schroeder 115,Schroeder BMF 1212,and thi weekend the fearful 15/6/1.Of those I liked the Berg and the Schroeder115 the best.

Most typical M9 "rigs"...

Dual Berg AE210's

Dual Berg AE112's

(all four Bergs if need be someday, but doubtful)

Single Epi UL2 410

Single Epi UL310 (previously - sold now)

Dual GK 112's.

And believe it or not, an old Hartke Pro 2200 (212) I mod'd.

I have yet to hear a single cab that doesn't sound/work great with the head. Love it.

Yes sir,got to try it Saturday night.I got the cab late Thursday and didnt have much time to play with EQ settings.

My first impression of this matchup was pretty mixed.I started with my normal setting-Voice2,Deep engaged with everything pretty flat except a slight bump in the lower mids.The highs were so extreme,I turned tweeter off,Rolled the highend back to around 9oclock,used the graphic to pull almost all of the highs down.The low end was awesome but I couldn't cut the highs enough.Switched to voice 3.Way better.I dialed the low end back in and it sounded good .

One thing-And I'll be playing with this throughout the week.I'm not sure the M9 retains the Mojo running at 8ohms.I ran out of power with this cab.It was breaking up pretty bad at fill gig volume.But we were outside on a big stage.I cut alot of low end out to try to pick up some headroom and by that time I didn't like the tone.

fwiw; I felt like that with the 8 ohm 15/6 I had.
Didn't like the 18Sound mid drive, and felt like the amp just wasn't pushing it to where it was doing it's thing.

That *might* have been an M6 back then...

However, the M9 and one 8 ohm GK Neo112 seems to be ok. Much different deal though. Those Em LF drivers just really want some juice, I think.
