Mesa Subway D-800+

That's most definitely NOT what I posted. You'd set up the control-to-function links once and thereafter have a knob or button for each thing you'd like to control - no menus needed. I do agree that using menus live on a live stage amp isn't what anyone wants.
Man I'd **** that up at home too! I tend to obsess over things so the fewer options the better.....

I just got a TC BH800. Great amp, but this new D-800+ is giving me GAS! I don't have access to anyone local with a D800 or D800+ to compare. I have another 10 days before I run out of my 30 days return policy with sweetwater.

Has anyone compared these two amps that could give me some insight on sound difference? I currently use TC K212 cabs.

Not only that, it can let you decide how many knobs/switches you want on the front panel!

The special upgraded model can even let you dictate how big the whole amp is (down to a reasonable size, anyway). :D
And what set list you will play for your amp each night... talkin' about control eh?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High Pass Filter: 2 pole fixed, 2 pole variable, 30Hz – 150Hz
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Equalization: Bass: +14dB/-14dB @ 40Hz [note 2]
Low Mid: +14dB/-14dB @ 150-1800 Hz
High Mid: +14dB/-14dB @ 300-5000 Hz
Treble: +11dB/-14dB @ 4kHz [note 2]

And that is why, for me, the D800+ is just perfect. I have loved my D800, and found that its price/weight/tone blend is unbeatable. My only significant wish for the amp was a greater ability to boost frequencies around 1K - 1.2k. I'm a fingerstyle player, but I like to boost in that frequency range to simulate the snap and attack of a pick. The greater EQ options of the 800+ will allow me to do exactly that, which is why mine is on its way from Sweetwater and my beloved D800 will soon be available for sale in the Classifieds.

Nice job to Agedhorse and everyone at Mesa Boogie!

Yeah, being able to cut some specific mid freq while boosting others is so valuable in live situations. Looking for troublesome frequencies and cutting, looking for sweet frequencies and boosting. Such a great feature set. I gigged my 800 on Saturday for four hours- never touched it- but I was playing my active j and adjusting mids through the night. The 800+ would have been great for my passive P.

I'm in that same boat (loving the 1k HZ boost). The 2 sweepable mid bands along with a variable HPF will make this head hard to resist even though I just purchased a Magellan and Darkglass amp. Mesa is on the pulse right now.

Agedhorse, does this mean that if I wanted to approximate the frequency centers of the sweepable mids of D800's EQ section with the D800+ would I simply leave the low and hi mid frequency controls on the 800+ at noon?
No, I don't think it works out quite that way. Maybe kinda close, but not the same, especially with the high mid.

So, is there way to approximate the D800 eq o. the 800+? If all else fails i can just listen :)
Yes, absolutely. I will have to put one on the bench and note the frequency controls position. Give me a day or so, I have a few new projects I'm deep into. ;)
