The D800+ is much larger than the regular D800 in width and depth. It's not even close as I've bought both. For me the regular D800 is the best amp for me. I like the more simplified settings of the D800.

Mesa Subway D-800+

Since we're twisting logic's tail, an 800+ has a smaller footprint if you put it on it's side. But you can't get to the moon on a half and a quarter. ;-)
D800+ with the subway 112 and a pbass........ oh man tone heaven! ive been running a Boss OC-3 in front of it with great results. creamy goodness! cant wait to have the cash to order the 115 to go with it!

Don't know where you got that info, but the D-800 is the smaller unit and the 800" is the larger unit, including cubic volume.
Regardless of cubic volume, my vote goes to the d800+. With some experimenting, I've gotten it to come very close to my aguilar tone hammer pedal and walkabout. Not to mention the d800. So much so, that I may sell the walkabout and keep the d800 +. Those mids and gain on the walkabout are pretty magical, though...
Actually, based on published info on the web pages of each product, he's right.
D-800: 3.125 x 10.625 x 11.25 = 373.54 in^3
D-800+: 2.625 x 13.25 x 10.15 = 353.03 in^3
The numbers for the D-800 are slightly smaller in the manual, leaving a much smaller difference between the two, but still computes to higher volume than the D-800+ All of those numbers include knobs, feet, etc., but it's how much room they take up in pack space.
In the real world, I'm absolutely sure you're correct, but possibly info on the website is incorrect?

Ahhh, I see the problem. Looks like the height of the plus was accidentally specified off of the chassis drawings without including the feet, otherwise the heights are identical. The depth of the two units is identical at just under 11" including the front panel controls and adding in the depth of the toggle switches. The switch depth may not have been included properly (even though they are pretty small).

crippity crap, i've been so satisfied with my eden wt-800c that i totally missed this! i might have to reconsider my amp situation :-/

Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
Lol. Your still OK. I still have my WT800C but my D800 is at least 20 lbs lighter, simpler to get a great tone, and most likely will prove to be more reliable long term. The feature set is, of course, very different and the flat eq tone is different (no tube emulation with the tube in the WT, just clean). Both are good. The D800+ would be my choice if you're coming from the WT800C due to the sweepable mids that you'll be acustomed to and the effects loop.
I still have a soft spot for the WT but while I can't seem to bring myself to sell it, the D800 gets used whIle the WT mostly sits in its case in a place that I only jam at once in a while.
Both are great amps but I don't really care to lug a 30 lb amp around anymore if I can help it and the Eden can be a bit more fragile than I care for for regular use. They do require some regular maintenance that the Mesa doesn't.
But you don't have to take my word for it, check one out and decide for your own needs.
So after reading all the positive things people on Talkbass have said about the D800+, I was officially GASing for one. Went out on a UK tour recently and one of the guys had to get some supplies between shows. Low and behold the shop had a D800+, oh dear, had to try it out.
Tried it out, oh no, all the hype was completely on the money. Oh dear, had to buy it, just what I needed with a new house being bought imminently. DON'T REGRET A THING. Can't believe the tone and volume of it given the size.
Did the remainder of the tour with it and had nothing but compliments from the band, the other bass players on the tour, as well as all the front of house engineers. All I need to do is pair it with a new cab. I was using an Orange 810 on the tour, and it paired up pretty well. Considering a Powerhouse 610, or Traditional 610, or even a Barefaced six10.
What to do........

Do the responsible thing and don't put it on your credit card... just roll it all into the mortgage!
If you go modular with the cabs, you can take advantage of its sub-4ohm capabilities....just sayin'...

that's a great feature, in a modular rig composed of single-driver cabs. i can run one, two, or three of my subway 15 cabs, as the gig requires--from polite to yuuuuuge and everything in between.

But do you need an 810? You would be very surprised at what 2x115" subway cabs are capable of volume wise.
Most of the time your stage rig is a monitor for you onstage in practical application anyways.
Or is it for appearances sake?
