One of the newest members to the Mesa fold. I have been using a Broughton oriented pedal board and a Rumble 500c the last couple of years. I wanted to see what the Mesa hype was about so I pulled the trigger on a 800D and 115. Have only had a chance to gig it once so far, deep powerful sound. Easy eq to dail in. And the easy part is important to me.

Bedroom tone -- this is a "has to be a do it all rig" for me -- has also been outstanding. My target is something along the lines of a Flabba Holt tone straight to the amp, with the board giving me some dirty blues, and weird FX.

800D has me pulling most of my EQ pedals off the board. Although, I really like with the Broughton Lowtech does (Pultec trick wise) with this rig.

Very happy with the 800D so far, but I have nothing to compare it to. Same with the 115.

I bought some really expensive candy that came with a free D-800+ in August of 2018. I'd like to own 'em, but I have no need. I have a variety of preamps and I can make them all sound bad. ;) It's hard to think it's been 8 years.

The variable HPF and the 4-band variable EQ sold me. I don't need a fraction of the flexibility offered me, but I like it. More knobs is better than fewer.

I'm currently using a WD800 and a BD800. I've been using the BD800 the most lately since it is the newest toy but the WD800 has been coming out quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. Certain basses really shine more through the WD like my ESP/LTD Bunny Brunel, Spector NS Dimension and Fender Player Plus Active P Bass. While my Fender Modified Active Jazz and EBMM Stingray Special 4 HH are quite addicting through the BD800. Not to say that they don't all sound good through each amp, but there are certain differences that speak better through one over the other.

Curious for all of the Mesa Subway Owners what the breakout is for model of choice.
If I can say one thing about the WD-800. OK, make it two things.

One, because of the tremendous amount of tonal control offered, be prepared to spend a lot of time dialing it in. I would not expect a plug it in and let ‘er fly experience.

But secondly and on the plus side, this is one of the most genre versatile amps that was ever designed. I’ve used it for everything from Motown to 70’s theater rock, power pop, disco, grunge, country, and smooth jazz. It will represent well.

Of course it’s debatable if it’s the best in class for each of those genres, but if you like to play a lot of different stuff or need to, this is the one you want.

Is the 800D speakon output only, no 1/4"?
Yes, this is because our products are sold world-wide and have to meet the strictest global safety regulations. 1/4” connectors won’t meet the national differences requirements inder IEC 62368-1 in some regions, therefore only SpeakOn jacks are provided.

I have all of them except the 800+, but it's the Bass 800D that's getting used most of the time these days (my vote).

The TT, WD, and D350 are all favorites but I would be perfectly happy with just my D800...or any of the SW heads for that matter.
Yes good chance I would be fine with any of Subway heads

I choose WD based on gut feeling and hearing a friend's Walkabout years ago: totally content and have no desire to try any other Amps even the 'Hot' 800D or any other manufacturers

But I am glad to see Andy's original designs 350 /800/800+ having a respectful showing in this post not just his excellent Modern upgrade of popular past amps

D-800+ / GK Neo210 has been my gig rig for about 2 years now. sounds great and the variable HPF has become a requirement for me (also have a Broughton pedal for other amps). We play mostly brew pubs and small venues so the ability to tame that low end and keep everything tight is crucial.
