Concur.
The Walkabout with the input low, and master high, is every bit and clean as say an SWR or Eden hybrid, but has more native girth.
reverse taht, and run input high and master low, and the Walkabout gets as tubey as anything out there, including the Mesa 400(+) and svt's Ive tried...from fat harmonic saturation, to very nice overdrive.
Most "hybrid" heads won't do that last part; they just clip and get ugly.

What is the street price of a 2009 Walkabout Head?
due to Mesa's pricing policy, there is no "street price" for their gear, where a dealer can cut a dea for some % off of "list" for any particular buyer. It's a fixed price situation for all dealers unless a piece of gear has been discontinued, or a dealer sells a piece of gear "used, as new". I have heard that Mesa oversees this policy pretty aggressively.
Not defending it, just putting it out there.
That's what I thought, but this price list said 1150: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/MatrixClaw/blog/23970/
Exactly, twice the price in the UK.In the UK, the Head is £1300! Thats $2000...
Like I said, lovely cab.

There's plenty more than the Ashdown Little Giant...
That doesn't appeal really.
There's always the Ashdown Little Giant
And that is exactly the way the I took it; no offence taken I can assure you.this comment was actually just a bit of good natured ribbing, gently and politely aimed at Bassman62![]()
I realize the scout cab was specifically designed for the passive radiator to fire into the floor, but has anyone tried one of these on its' side? I often read posts talking about elevating cabs to avoid boom/coupling with the floor, and wonder about these things when I should be doing others....
Lomo:
Never messed with positioning my any different than "normally."
The passive radiator doesn't actually put out sound; it's a design to "fool the cab's driver into thinking it's in a bigger box;" thus allowing it to sound deeper and fuller than a box that small has any right to.
(as i understand it, IME, IMO, YMMV, etc)
