Mesa!

Gonna go pull the trigger on a new Mesa amp tomorrow. Toss up between Mesa M6-Carbine or the MPulse. There both 600w and both have killer reviews. Thoughts?

It's a hard one. I read about all the reviews on these amps, watched videos. I always got to TAPK BASS. Now I'm signed up in here. Well thanks for responding.

Even if it was I'd vote Carbine, although I'd prefer the M9 over the M6.

I chose the Carbine and am not disappointed. I already had a Walkabout, so the 600 wasn't as attractive - I wanted to broaden my tone options. In terms of power, punch and quickness the Carbines are pretty impressive. The Carbine is an excellent rock amp. You'll likely spend more time trying to tame it's inherent characteristics than working on how to get it to speak with authority. If you want more of tube-like response/feel, the 600 is a great hybrid amp, although no longer in production.

Thanks bro. That's what I've been hearing. I just needed a lil push from a few of you guys on here lol. Torn between them. I've heard nothing but good stuff with mesa. I'm also getting the PH410. I'm gonna pick up the PH212,next week. I'm getting a sweet deal. The gear has never been played out. Always just sat in a nice basement. Here's a pic of the actual rig.

The 410 is rock icon that will impress you as a great single cab/max power solution. The 212 isn't too far behind in volume, and the lows come through with a grand piano type of full, round tone. The PH 212 is actually my favorite.

While the mixed cab police may issue a warrant for my arrest, I can assure you that the 410 and 212 do sound good together should you need to play a large outdoor event or blow the windows out of a building. Good luck with your new rig!

I think the cab was sucking the power outta my AMPEG. Those Deltas are nuts. I also have a SWR-610 4ohm /1000w

Think I'm going nig for the Carbine. I'll have the head and 410 tomorrow. I'll post a pic up tomorrow and I'll give some feedback on it. Thanks again for the info.

That's some seriously nice gear. The Goliath Sr. is a great cab. Actually the SWR is voiced a bit like the Mesa PH cabs to my ear. Hopefully you'll find the Mesa stuff up to your standards.

The Carbine is way cleaner sounding than the Mpulse, if thats your thing.
The Mpulse has more growly warmth that Mesa amps were traditionally known for at the time, while Carbines were the start of clinical clean.

Can't go wrong between those two. I prefer the MPulse 600.

The M6 would be my choice due to the simpler EQ. Can't imagine either wouldn't sound awesome though.

I have owned and gigged with 2 Mpulse 600's over the last 10 years. Haven't tried the Carbine series. The Mpulse is an awesome amp however. One thing to note is the Mpulse's have lost a bit of their resale value now that the Carbines have taken over, i found it difficult to sell my extra Mpulse last year when i needed the cash.

You'll be happy either way i imagine.
