CRONOS (Venom)

CRONOS?! Man, I love Venom....but their beauty was, I think, how not very musically oriented they were. The dark, elegant (or not) simplicity sorta thing. Like Hellhammer after them, you know?

I mean, Martin Ain wasn't the best bassist, but some of his lyrics are good.

Tom Araya has some wicked bass lines on the first two Slayer albums, when he was a finger picking bass player. The bass was more complex and more upfront in the mix on those recordings.

Steve Harris and Cliff Burton are also among my fav metal bass players.

I don't know... Cronos has busted out some sweet basslines in his day. He plays some lead oriented stuff during a few ballady tunes (can't think of any off hand)... but Blackened are the Priests has a pretty cool bassline during the middle part.
