Metal Fans Need Your Feedback!!

sounds good dude. ill have to listen to it again when i get home. crappy work speakers :( as someone said Devildriver and Killswitch-ish. personally i was never a fan of gang vocals. but everything sounds fantastic :)

Yeah we never set out to do gang vocals. But when we got to the studio it just seemed to work for this song. We already agreed to keep the gang vocals only on a case by case. Thanks for the good feedback.

dude, you know, i don't really listen to metal that much anymore (i'm going through a Jazz/ Prog Rock phase), but your band is SOLID. you're timing is impeccable, and i love how your bass player is able to cut through the mix. GOOD WORK!!!

Thanks alot, this song was really hard for me. I did not have a solid part for this song going into the first day of tracking. So I was sent home to come up with something and this was 3 days later. I can thank our engineers, Steve Lagudi for providing an Alembic 5er that he purchased from Jason Newsted and Tommy Jones for pushing the bass up in the mix.

Before joining this current band I went through the same phase. It was nice to walk away from the metal for a while. Now that I am back into it I appreciate it so much more. Plus my playing is a lot better. Prog and Jazz can teach you so many good tricks. But it makes you appreciate a metal player trying to keep up with super fast double bass and shredding guitar players while in a drop C tuning were your stings are flapping in the wind.

As a big metalfan and playing some-sort-of-metal myself i give this 7 of 10 thumbs up!

It's very good metal, over the usual quality i hear here in Sweden and we got loads of metal-bands.

My only problem is that it sounds exactly as everything else in the metal scene. It's just not so special.

That is my personal opinion of course.

Thanks for the input. I would agree that we really don't bring anything new to the metal scene. But that is something we are working on with our new singer. This music was recorded before he was a member. And he is the only guy I have meet that is as versatile as a guy like Mike Patton. So moving forward I hope to open up the sonic spectrum. I am trying to get my guitar player to experiment with some new sounds.

sounds pretty good, but yeah it sounds kinda stereotypical. Like most modern metal bands, you've done the entire song in a minor key. Branch out a bit! Explore new sounds. It'll transform a good metal band into a very good metal band.

What are some examples of bands that you would consider "very good" metal bands? Slipknot?

Each of our songs have their own personality so I would say that we do "branch" out. I will let you know when the next one is complete. Thanks for taking the time to listen:cool:

Slipknot? God no...

I was thinking more along the lines of Anata, Death, Scar Symmetry, Cynic, Angra, Nevermore, Kamelot, etc. Each of their songs sounds a bit different from each other. They're all very creative.

You list some good bands. But we are more in the vein of Killswitch/slipknot. The next song we are releasing I feel may not be SO different then "Until the Day" but it is in a different key. But I will let you decide. Again thanks for your input.

I must say that I am proud of our first song considering we have no budget and no producer. But I always look for ways to improve our sound.

You guys clearly got the skill, i shall follow your myspace and this thread!

Take a look at the band "Botch", extremly versatile. It's hardcore music, but still.

Cool!!! Thanks a lot, I have heard a lot about this band Botch. For some reason I want to say that they may be from NJ???? Or one of the members relocated to Asbury Park.
These songs that we are working on are a few years old. We went through a few singers before deciding on Diz. He really has a wide range of voices. So I think that the new material will be more versatile, but I think once we finish the EP and you can hear each of the tracks they are different from each other. Not too much different, but they each have their own vibe.
