Metalheads Club #1

No, my avatar is from a Soundgarden single (I think), called "satan oscillate my metallic sonatas." It's a palindrome.
Oh, I've never seen that before.....just out of curiosity, what is your bands name?

So anyway, check this out.....I just finished a re-fin on my Fortress today. This could be my "Best Bass for Metal" now :bassist:

I heard Joey did another National Anthem before a pre season Minnesota Vikings game a couple of days ago. Can't find a video clip, but here's him before a Bulls game last year......very cool

So I told you guys a while back that I joined a new band and it's still going good. We'll probably do our first gig in about a month or so. In case I didn't mention it, it is a like a country / rockabilly / metal kind of thing, very cool stuff

But I just got an offer from a new band that's just starting off, and I think I'm going to try to squeeze these guys into my schedule

Here's a sample.......what do you guy's think?

There's definitely some cool old school thrash going on there. Some of the drums fills sound triggered or programmed? That could be difficult to reproduce live. Personally, I think it rocks. Totally awesome. Financially, it would be difficult to break even, and even that would require superhuman effort.

Yeah I've never been apart of 2 bands at once, but I really would like to do some old school metal stuff. I think I can make it work because the one band rehearses on Wed. and the other would be on Saturdays....As for the money I'm not expecting anything to be made from either band. I got a pretty good day job so I just do this stuff for the fun of it.

You know though I'm 50 yo so it's hard to find Metal bands that want to have anything to do with us older guys. Most bands are younger and still have hopes of making it, but these guys are older like me, so there dreams of making it big are pretty non existent ....anyway there might not be to many opportunities left so I think I'm going to jump on this :)

I totally understand, and if I went back to gigging, that's what I'd do. In that context, the thrash band seems like an excellent opportunity. Both projects appear interesting.
