METALOCALYPSE

I've met Devin..also you don't remember the episode where they were visited by their parents and Pickles dad had a great big long beard (ala Torbin Ulrich in Some Kind Of Monster)

I've never seen Some Kind of Monster.

None of the characters are exactly modeled after any specific person. The closest and easiest to spot is Nathan Explosion compared to Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse. They all represent a basic metal sterotype.

i had never heard of this! but, check this out...i turn on cartoon network for my 4 and 5 year old at night, and i went in their room to turn the tv off and i saw this...so, here i am sitting on my daughter's vanity at the foot of her bed sitting next to a carousel watching metalocalypse on a disney princess television wearing boxers and a t-shirt with a cup of coffee...i must've looked like an idiot, but i was mesmerized...this show is great! when i go back to my room like 10 minutes later, my wife was like 'see something shiny?' :D

Metalocalypse rules. It does have some inside metal jokes like when they are talking about murderface...something like well we pretty much mix his bass out of every song, but we need him. Funny stuff indeed. And Dr. Rockso the rock n roll clown is totally david lee roth in my opinion. Snakes and Barrells a la guns n roses anyone. I love this show. What, Is my nose bleedin'...I fell down!

Oooooooooookay.

Hunter S. Thompson has achieved imortal status by writing books w/ no plot.

At least he can spell 'there.' :p

Anyways,

The show did really improve during the course of this initial season. I was completely hooked after Happy Birthday Murderface.

My main point still stands that the show needs to be half an hour long. That was my main gripe and reason for making the post. I don't see how anyone would want to not have a full half hour of metalocalypse.

I have only seen it once - I am 39 years old and played "original, non-death, overly self-indulgent, melodic heavy metal" in the days when Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeath were fairly new to most people.

The one episode I saw reminded me so much of everything that was going on with the "metal crowd" back then that, as much as I wish I was never a part of it, made me laugh and even get a little nostalgic.

I then proceeded to have a flash-back, downed an entire bottle of Purple Passion, put on spandex pants, a muscle shirt (which, on me should be called a "look, I have no muscles" shirt), proudly put on foot up on the arm of the couch and began air-bassing Steve Harris lines aiming my imaginary bass at an imaginary evil monster who was attacking my imaginary, head-banging mosh pit, and the rest is a blur...

But my friend told me I am not allowed at his house any more. He is still trying to convince his kids that "Eddy" is not going to get them...

Eddy is TOOOOTALLY gonna get them.

I love this show. At first, when it was new and I had only seen commercials for it, I was seriously doubting it would be any good.
After seeing 2 episodes, I was hooked. The show's hilarious, the music is actually good, and it features the voice of Georger Fisher (singer from Cannibal Corpse), and there's lots of gore/dismemberment/impaling and stuff like that.
What's not to like?
