Metalocalypse

To really sum it up I'd call it an extreme metal version of Spinal Tap in the form of an animated series. You can tell its a show making fun of metal culture as only a real fan of metal could do. Also, imo, some songs are hit or miss, with the first album being much superior to the second (Murmaider ftw!).

One of my favorite clips, no video as it was only on a bonus disc deal from the first album, but pretty funny and always reminds me of Spinal Tap for some reason.

The show is soooo quotable, if you have a few friends that watch the show you will be doing it all the dang time. When I was about 19 or so, my friends just started getting into it and we would go on for hours. One inside joke we had was when a customer at the place we were working at (Best Buy) asked if a camera had "9 megapickles" (no, not making this up) so our joke was that Pickles eventually went off and made his own supergroup called MegaPickle, with all the same members as Dethklok and songs that were all phallic innuendos.

You are correct sir, pretty much every metalhead I know loves the show. I feel like most metalheads are able to laugh at themselves and their subculture, as soon as I find a metalhead who can't I know I don't have to speak to that person anymore.

RELEASE THE KITTIES!!! Metalocalypse is probably one of the most amusing shows adult swim has had in the past 5-7 years. If you look on youtube you can find the bonus footage from I think, season 1 where skwisgar is doing a "how to play dethklok songs" type of video. It's quite amusing to watch, even if you're not a fan of small's other works such as home movies, or dr. katz.

I know one who found it offensive, like us being compared to the same grade of persons like Beavis and Butthead.

And yet it's remarkable, he's a mod on the metalarchives site.

Brilliant show! First couple times I watched it, I was like, meh...I couldn't understand what the heck half the guys on the show were saying!

I feel like the characters have completely grown on me. I have a hard time watching a few episodes and not bringing the characters' dialogue to band practice with me :D
