Stacato. For rock and roll and solo work, I use a different click for the one, For walking I use half speed, equal clicks and play on the 2 and 4.
When you use a metronome, you are listening to the spaces as well as the clicks. In other words, I dont hear CLICK, click, click, click, I hear I&2&3&4&.
I don't know how that works with a drum machine.
