I guess it would be cool if you like to store a lot of videos or photos. Personally, I don't even need any of that stuff, I just want to listen to my music and not have to pay a crapload to do it!
Looks cool enough, although I'd rather get a player with Ogg support. But I've actually gotten by just fine singing to myself since my old mp3 player broke and I fried my CD player.
I wouldn't mind having one thats for sure. I don't have an iPod and never have, and I also prefer Microsoft over Apple. If the reviews are good enough on these things I might just go ahead and get one in the next 3 months.
30GB just isn't enough though, not now Apple have an 80GB iPod. Also, they'll seriously have to sort out the scope of its wi-fi music sharing features, and enable its use as an external hard drive.
The real killer app for it would be integration with the new Xbox 360 movie/TV downloads service. Apparently it's coming, but not yet.

I hear they're pretty cool (friend of mine works at Microsquish). I've been using Apples since I was in sixth grade so I have an iPod and it's been ubelievably tough and reliable. I don't store video or photographs anywhere but on my computer and the iPod has plenty enough memory to keep my entertained whenever I need to put headphones on. I'm sure the Zune is a good product but I've heard there were some issues (like the aforementioned WiFi) that they could have resolved to make it a great product if they hadn't rushed it out for the Christmas shopping season.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I just know my iPod works, as have all the Macs I've owned over the years. I'm not tech-saavy at all and Macs just work for me. I guess this falls under the category of 'picking one's battles'.
I have a Creative Nomad Zen Xtra 30GB player, and it's worked fine for me over the past couple years. So saying all other mp3 players suck is wrong.
Only thing I don't like about it is that it's slightly bulky, but it's not like I go jogging or anything where I'd need a really tiny design. It doesn't play videos or show photos, but I've never understood the fascination of watching a video clip on a little two inch screen anyway.

With the 60GB version of the Creative Zen Vision M now out, I will look no further for an mp3 player.
