Realistically, if you don't have bank, don't do it.
My first car, bought it when I was 15... It had 3rd, 4th, and reverse still working.
I limped it home, and two hours later my two older brothers had the transmission pulled and the JC Whitney catalog opened and ordering the parts to fix it..

Go for it!! If I were to choose from the ones you mentioned, I'd go with the Camaro. My first car was a 74 Camaro.
If I were to do a mid life crisis car (I'm nearing 51 myself), I would try to acquire a car like one I let go years ago - my grandmother's garage kept 1970 Pontiac Lemans sport. She sold it to me when I was 20 something, 26K miles on it at the time. Never should have let it go.
It looked exactly like this right down to the color and vinyl roof, but with different wheels. My friends and I hot rodded the engine a bit after I got it. It was SO fast! However - I was young and stupid, got into a minor wreck that caused some cosmetic damage and never had money to fix it. It fell into further disrepair and I eventual sold it in 1990 for dirt cheap. Really a shame. BTW - you can fir an SVT 810 on its side in the back seat.

I thought about going that route. I would keep my current car as my daily driver. There are several older cars I would like that are not terribly expensive, one of which is a 64 Galaxy 500. My grandfather had one and taught me how to drive on it.
Do it! But... be aware that if this will be your only car, most of the ones you mentioned can be problematical if you're trying to haul equipment.

Hah! We had one of those when I was young. Mom chose all the cars and wanted that one. Same color too! Damn I had forgotten that car until this post. It eventually got replaced with a HUUGE red 75 Olds.

I have driven Datsun Z-cars and BMWs for decades. Life is too short not to enjoy what you drive. Break out of the econobox habit and drive a car that's worth grinning at when you turn the ignition key.
My wife is with me on this. We raised two kids with Audi sedans and a couple of SUVs that were reasonably fun to drive. Neither she nor I will own a mini-van. (We try never to even ride in them.) One daughter drives a Mini Cooper S, the other drives a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
ENJOY what you drive, don't be stuck driving a car that's a basic appliance - like a toaster with wheels.

My 2006 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I bought it new. It stays on my farm and has about 9500 (95% off-road) miles on it.
...yeah. Life's worth living.
