MIJ Jazz pickguards - all created equal?

I just bought a 90s MIJ fretless jazz, and want to replace the pickguard. The official Fender one that's sold at my local GC is annoyingly just ever so slightly off in terms of fit (it's meant for MIA). So, I have to take to the internet which leaves me with either custom ($$$) or the various aftermarket ones that are sold on Reverb, the most promising being one for the MIJ Geddy Lee jazz bass.

My question for those in the know is this: is it likely that the MIJ measurements were consistent across all lines of Jazz Basses, and could reasonably expect that a Geddy Lee PG will fit on another MIJ jazz?

Thanks!

Hello. Try WD Music. Review their standard models, then ask them if you want confirmation of which model will fit your application. Although a custom pickguard template should not be needed for this bass, they can do that for you, too:

Thanks, that is a very good suggestion and one that I saw echoed elsewhere in the little TalkBass research I did on this topic... if I can't get a straight answer about the Geddy Lee PG fitting any other MIJ jazz, I think that will be the direction I go (or just keep it au naturel which looks kind of sharp too!)
