A few posts back I mentioned that you had posted about the build in August 2011 and then absolutely nothing until 13 months later. Why wait until now to bring it all out in the open? What has happened between you and the builder in the last 13 months?

Communication lines were ok 13 months ago, but slowly evaporated until I sent the first email on page one of this thread.

While I did not consider we reached a satisfactory resolution, I was told that I would be kept up to date, weekly.

After ten weeks I had not been, so I gave him some warnings, asked that he acknowledge (just acknowledge, that's all) my attempts to contact him, and eventually gave up and posted this thread.

Wow, I dealt once or twice with Mike when we were both active on this forum but this is pretty shocking, I never would have thought he would have been so arrogant. There’s no way you can stay in business with an attitude like that, and after this he definitely won’t – that is if he isn’t already.

That’s unfortunately the huge disadvantage of forums like this, plenty of people can show up and talk the talk but you just don’t know. I hope this will be a warning to anyone trying to get a deal with a lesser known luthier or seasoned amateur, make sure you see pictures of completed instrument and not just one or two, try to get in touch with past customers to see if they like the builds and if they recommend the builder.

From what I can see of the pictures you posted there’s about a couple hours work in your bass, there’s still about 95% of the work to be done before its done. I don’t think you’ll be seeing that bass or your money again seeing his attitude. Let me know if you ever get the parts Alex, or if Musiclogic wants to share the workload

EDIT: Actually did he even offer that or is that just a suggestion up there?? :hiding: ^

I am working on an idea for a group build with a few other TB'er right now if the situation becomes a complete wall. One way or another Alex will get the bass design he wanted whether Mike holds up his end, or we make a complete bass among the group. The regulars that hang here are not going to let 1 guy make all of us small builders and hobbyists look bad. Alex deserves at least that. Thank you all for the votes of Confidence, and Jauqo thank you for the props, you sir are the best!

Cool, if you guys end up doing all this I'm up for my part, seeing as i'm closest to Alex it would make sense for me to do the last bits, i.e. finishing and final setup

Cool Phil and Brandon, Jason Rickett and David Remy are also going to help out, We can get this done. We'll just keep it as a plan unless this goes further south(not sure it can), and I will be everyone a list of what the plan will be and we can figure the works here and Phil can do the last parts by his gracious offer. Nice to have someone with Phils skills in OZ to make the finals complete,

LMAO. Cool Ian, we will take all help we can get...LOL
