Mikeyswood - BUYER BEWARE

Actually when I saw my first sub bass played by Jauqo III-X, he played through a Thunderfunk or Ashdown. Just a standard amp but one that has the broad low range seems to work best. I believe the Thunderfunk was 600w. I have seen Yves Carbonne play his Noguera through a combo on Youtube.

I don't know where to start... So here goes.

I own ChromeDomeAudio, LLC in Cincinnati Ohio.

I know Mike. He has done auto cad design for me, for some of the amplifiers I manufacture.

That being said. This whole mess is beyond a joke, and not to take away from the original problem. But I still can't find a way to compute how my company's name was brought into this. I just learned of this today due to a customer of my brick and mortar shop calling me and subsequently freaking me out.

I have read some of the thread and that's all I need to to do.
The bass builder in question apparently used my name to further a cause at some point, or many points.

I have worked very hard to build the business I own, and the reputation that I stand by to the utmost extent. I do everything in my power to represent sheer awesomeness...

And I'm also trying to be diplomatic, but my good name has been associated with a giant clusterfukk.

From what I understand, Mike is a part time bass builder and full time chemist. He has alias's on web forums, email addresses etc.

I have a business, which feeds my family. The idea that a link to my business has been erroneously associated with this mess is enough to make me puke. I believe whole heartedly that the circumstances of the relationship between Mike and myself/business were overstated after reading what I have read, just in terms of the response(s).

The arrogance I read says allot. Hell, I deal with famous guys that I don't even know of at fist and don't act like king ****. Not the point.

What troubles me most is the direct association of ChromeDomeAudio and this mess. The financial end of the problems the original poster is facing is small problem with an easy solution. I don't say this to diminish the effects or stress of the problem, it's just out of left field I realize I'm getting dragged through the **** for something I have nothing to do with, or something I have no knowledge of.

I would have paid the cost of the problem here to avoid it. Not that I can throw around money, but I can afford the dollars allot more then I can the negative association to said problem.

So with that being said. I realize the owners of this forum, to which I am new to, and the moderators have made the calculated decision to allow this entire god awful ****** problem to continue. There must be merit behind it. In other words they have decided the risk of facing legal action over this mess is non-existent.

I hear that people have come together to try and solve Eddies problems by coming together and finishing the build, out of what ever was returned or provided, though it seems there is very little of use left.

I can't build this guy a bass. You wouldn't want me to. I design, build and repair tube amps. I play the soldering iron and am known to be ****** guitar player.

What I can do is spend the money it takes, regardless of how painfull it is on my end to have at a minimum a statement made to the general public of this forum that I have nothing to do with this mess. It would be of value...

Mike has email addresses and a goofy name on this forum I'm sure. There was a hyper link to my business for god knows how many days.... That hurts guys like me.

I'll make this guy whole. I just want and need the good people of the forum to understand that I'm a looser in this as much as the customer.

I rely on my good name, obviously Mike doesn't.

I'm sorry this happened to you bro. It's a damn shame.

Adam,

Mike represented himself on this forum as a manager and partner in Chrome Dome Audio. He had that as his self-assigned title, and he said so on a few occasions in various past threads.

I understand that his assertion is not true, and it doesn't surprise me to learn that. I believe that people wanted to make you aware of his activities in order for you to understand that a person purporting to represent you is engaged in very shady activity.

It is an unfortunate truth that Mr. Pearson has been reticent to respond to the person who paid him to build a bass. When that happens, there are few ways for a person continents away to pursue consequences. One of the easiest is to contact the person's business partners, or at least the people the Scheister claims are his business partners. Unfortunately, one of those asserted partners was you. Again, I understand that his assertions were false, and that he was lying about a good number of things he said.

I do hope that your name and brand have not been permanently damaged.

Some of us are definitely rallying to get Alex his bass. That much is being handled already.

It seems that this case has come to a conclusion.
I'm sure Talkbass adms won't have a problem deleting this thread if the Alex guy gets his money back.

Way to go.

The slanders against purported business partners should be removed, but this thread should be left as a warning.

Bingo! For every post Mike made your business name was under his. Mike claimed to be the manager of Chrome Dome (or words to that effect). I hope that the moderators can verify this.

I had no intention of dragging an innocent third party into this, Adam, and I am very sorry that you have become collateral damage. Please understand that it was Mike's actions of titling himself as "Luthier Mike Wayne Instruments and Manager of Chrome Dome Audio", that led to you be caught up in this.

I will make efforts to call you on the number you listed when our timezones match and I am not at work.

Hi Adam,

I don't know about most of the people here, but I think it is plain the disonnect from reality Mike has had, and I hope it doesn't damage your business. There is a great deal of distrust with Mike and anything he may have posted, and your post clarifies it even further. I am glad you took the tme to set that facet of the Mike story straight, and I hope people from here take the time to frequent your shop.

Best of luck always
JC

There's nothing I can add on Alex's situation except to say that I'm really impressed with the TB community and the efforts being made to help him out.

However, since Adam from Chrome Dome has joined and expressed concern for his business reputation, I felt like I should relate the positive experiences I have had with him and Chrome Dome.

I've been a customer of Chrome Dome on two separate occasions, the most recent being about two months ago. Both times were very positive experiences. I never dealt with or saw any "shop manager" or whatever Mike was calling himself - I was always waited on by Adam. He was great to work with and did good work for me on both occasions. I will not hesitate to use his shop again the next time I need amp work.

Considering Mikeys actions, I have no doubt in my mind that he has or had no association with Chrome Dome, and he was using Adams business to try and impress people online, by making himself out to be some type of big shot.

Holy ****...I just stumbled on this post and had to read the whole thing when I saw early on references to Chrome Dome.

I bought one of Adam's prototypes of his guitar amps from him a couple years ago. It was ridiculously cheap for a handmade amp. And it is awesome.

After that I took a deada**, beats*** Gibson Thor 2x10 combo in to Adam to see if he could make it a useful amp. He checked it out and quoted me a price to re-tube and clean it up a bit. The next day after he got it apart (crazy sealed design - just that part is a pain) and found it needed new drivers. He called and talked at length about my options and price points. We agreed on a set and a few days later he called me to tell me it was ready. I was at work so he offered to meet me later close to my work so I could pick it up. In addition to re-tubing and the drivers he ended up replacing most of the amps' guts and added a standby switch. He didn't charge me for the additional stuff. He got the drivers for cheaper than he expected. And he charged me less than the quote.

I've never taken ANYTHING in for service and paid less than the quoted price, had stuff thrown in for free and had it delivered.

That thing was a doorknob and now it sings. I use it all the time.

I don't know Mike.

In my experience Adam is beyond a stand up guy.

What a mess. Sorry OP for your troubles.

This thread brings out the best and worst in TB. Folks who will donate time and materials to some dude they don't know that got screwed...and folks who jump on any bandwagon to slander anyone in their path.

They are just words, but words can heal and they can hurt.

Man, I sound like a hippie...

Little known fact about Adam "Donkey" White: he can't wear shorts without drawing a public indecency charge.

After sharing a shop with him for a good long while I can also say he's exceptionally good at making tube amps go (I've got 2 over there now), eating chicken wings, and drinking beers on wing tuesdays @ BW-3 or at Hooters on fridays.

Beyond that he's a great friend to me and a hell of an electronics nerd. (and I'm betting he'll make fun of me after reading this)

Oh, and he's probably armed so don't piss him off. :)

In Chicago (not far from Cincy), just read this whole thread, and I'm probably more fired up than I should be. I'd love to help in anyway I can. When is the Cincy GTG?

Sunday the 28th if memory serves me correctly. Should be a good time :)

Unrelated: bochafish has the best avatar on TB.

There's an important lesson to be learned here: Watch out with the friends that you surround yourself with, especially if there's business involved, sometimes you may not know what they're doing behind your back, or mis-dealings they get caught up in.

I must be reading wrong or Adam is being very in between the lines, as far as legal action, I don't see it. It looks to me like he just wants to separate himself and his business from any of Mikey's dealings.

Remember this, this issue and responsibility falls squarely on Mike Pearson's shoulders, not Adam's.
