Mesa Walkabout... Tube preamp, tube driven Mosfet power amp, active bass and treble controls, passive midrange, active three band semi-parametric midrange, 300 watts into 4 ohms...tone for days (IMHO)!!!

Tom's blog and my experience at the Chicago GTG have me pairing my Walkabout with an AccuGroove Tri210-L...I'm very happy!

Thanks folks - the frustrating thing is that we haven't rehearsed since I got the set-up so it's yet to be given a complete spin. It does sound pretty sweet at home playing as loud as is socially acceptable! I've been really surprised at how nice my 4001 sounds through it too.

i opted for a more mini-rig than the bball bat... a can of bear mace on a small hook behind the door. Then again there is always the Mossberg os my ultimate "rig of doom!"

i traded my mossberg for a model 12. definitely not a mini rig.

where does one obtain bear mace?

My SWR Redhead With Eminance Basslites CH-2010 which takes 12 lbs off the amp. The thing that turned this into a RIG OF DOOM is the BBE Maxcom Compressor . All Sitting on top of a Son Bertha

Great to my ears. The Focus is a pretty straight forward power amp and the PJBB is a clean kind of pre with a very nice EQ section. The compresser is surprisingly goood too. I've also been using a BDDIp as a pre when I want a bit more edge - and again I'm very happy with it in conjunction with the Focus SA. My idea has always been to have a small power amp that I can combine with various pre amps.
