I think you could find a laptop bag that would work I just happened to have this attache which my company had imported a few years back. I actually do have one of the mark bass bags on order as well, but maybe this attache is better.

Cool! I hope that you get a better price on them over there than we do over here. Still, with their amps at the price that they are, it seems almost rude to complain!

O.k., the Ashdown isn't really doomish until you add the little blue/silver box at the bottom of the picture. That's a J-Retro stompbox, and it makes the Ashdown rig bloom!

Yeah, I cheated a bit. I grew up in the 80's where a "rig of doom" meant a wall of cabs...so I stretched the "mini" part, cuz dammit I just wanted to post my new rig.

BTW, I asked you for some advice about Sadowsky cabs and the Traynor several months ago. Thanks again...they sure sound great together!! I'm diggin' it

Just got this fired up today. The amp is a BK Electronics 600W into 2 ohms power amp designed for active speaker cabs. Works nicely so far, even into my single 8 ohm 1x15". The cab is the weak point just now, its heavy and horrible but I can't afford anything else right now so it will have to do

I think it's about time that some brave company started manufacturing 15" rack mount cases . Or do they already ...?

My Markbass head arrives tomorrow hyper: ), but I'm loathed to put a 2.4kg amp in a 5kg 3HE flight case.

Yeah I bought a rack bag for my Markbass ta-503 and it went from weighing 8lbs to 20lbs. Maybe I should just get a bag from Markbass....

Yeah, maybe! Or maybe you should just buy a pair of cargo pants (with the big knee pockets) and shove it in one of them . That's what I'm planning to do with my "Lil' MkII"

Some very nice 'mini' rigs here. I think I have posted this picture on about every amplifier related thread now, but I am just so happy with it. 90% of the time I run it on half power and it sounds just out of this world. Compared to other tube amps I have had in the past it seems to really let my bass breathe and the compressor is really good sounding - at first it was hard to adjust but now I have the input gain settled I have found the sweet spot. All tone controls set flat. I do not use the second channel which is more gritty than the first but look forward to experimenting with it.

Sorry yes it is indeed a 15 and a horn. Superb sounding thing. Here is a little info from the manual to wet your appetite:

The main signal path through the preamp and power stage sections is 100% valve, relays have been used for all the switching functions, and integrated circuits have been used in the DI circuit for quiet operation and impedance matching for Lo-Z mixer inputs.

Highest quality porcelain valve sockets have been used throughout for the KT88’s, ECC83’s and EM84.

The power and output transformers have been custom made for maximum performance using high grade laminations. Windings are resin soaked and manufactured to pass international approvals.

A highly regulated DC supply is used for heater filaments in all preamp valves for minimal hum levels.

An external biasing facility is featured - this enables techs to check/reset output bias at any time without removing the chassis.

Internal wiring and glass epoxy circuit board layouts use multiple return star earthing for low noise and hum. All audio sections have been laid out for sonic performance using ‘point to point’ wiring principles.

Gold plated jack sockets are used exclusively throughout.

Quiet, chassis mounted, fans keep the power output valves at safe operating temperatures even when playing at high volumes.


It is heavy but just too good to pass up. This thing should become quite valuable! Besides, for bigger gigs I use the podXT pro into the P.A!
