If anyone attending the 7/22 GTG would like to check out an all Aguilar rig live, my band Venus On Fire (http://www.facebook.com/venusonfiremusic) will be playing at the Fineline the night before (7/21). Tickets are $5 through me or $8 at the door. Doors are at 8, and music should be starting at 8:30.

If you want to go, PM me and we can arrange something for tickets.

This is also open to those not attending the GTG :D

Not in Minneaopolis anymore (was there on and off in recent years for consulting work), but I wanted to make sure you all knew about the Victor Wooten Band shows at the Dakota - 7/9 and 7/10. I saw them in NYC and Philly. Very different stuff. Yes, there are the occaisional pyrotechnics, but for the most part it was killer grooves, using all four bass players (Anthony, Dave Welsh and Steve Bailey) and two drummers (J.D. Blair and Derico Watson), all backing up a fantastic singer, Crystal Peterson. It's a great show, and will sound killer in Dakota's room.

Does anyone want an old Kustom bass head? Just a chassis, no cab. It's a K200 I think. 200 watts 1970's power. It works. Two channels, bass and treble controls. Fits in a standard rack. Needs a cap job - it's buzzy. For all of that, it sounds pretty cool. A hairy, ballzy sound.

Free. I need it out of my basement.

I'm always intrigued when I realize I've met someone before, but not in the setting I'm currently in. We played together quite awhile ago (my band is My Fall Lament), I think at The Fine Line. Weird.

So where do you recommend Luckie get that thing recapped? Casey Goobie (sp?) comes highly recommended. Savage Amps does good work, but aren't especially cheap. Twin Town boasts the lowest bench rate in town, but I've never used them.

KO

Well I would take it to savage if it was going anywhere, but I'll be recapping it myself.
Gooby doesnt work on SS amps afaik

Kraigo, I'll take it. we used two of these recently at a gig. We had one using a 3 - 15" Kustom cab and one 2 - 15" bassman cab.

Oops! too late (again).

Hey Rick! I'll bring my Blackface Rough Blonde Tolex ('65 or '66) Showman to the next GTG for you to check out. (assuming that you'll be there) We spoke about you doing a 'tune-up' at the last GTG.
