[Minneapolis/MN Thread] Where's the "beer" thread icon?

The Good Guys used to live up to their name. I have had really good experiences with them. Once word got out they got swamped. I haven't had especially bad experiences with them but I've had friends who have. Savage has consistently treated me well, so even though there are places that are definitely closer and possibly cheaper, I know I can trust Savage to do the job right, so I keep going back.

I had a similar experience with the Good Guys. They eventually did a good job, but it took something crazy like 7 months. Funny we're discussing this here, because it was at the first GTG planned in this thread where I blew up the amp! Remember the Ampeg Portabass, Kraigo?

GoodGuys...
I've had mixed results from them. For a LONG time they were really the only repair joint in town. They have a strong following of some of the more in demand acts. People they have a lot of interaction with receive first priority.

I wouldn't want to be in the amp repair biz - can't imagine how bad it must be to explain a reasonable bench rate when chineese gear is sooo cheap to the masses.

Get ToGether?

Does it sound like you guys want to do this before the spring/summer gigging season gets back into motion?

I'd love a GTG before the springtime. Feb. 20th had been tossed out shortly after the last one, so we could have more time (Sunday), but I'd be open for other dates.

My only apprehension for a Sunday get together is for the guys who play on Saturday.. normally family stuff is pushed to Sunday (if out gigging)

------

I would like ot ask Oflora and JSchroeder to do the walking seminar we discussed last time. Anyone want to be the time keeper bulldog?

------

I would like to try some fearful (like I need more amps, or cabs.... or basses for that matter)

I should have a demeter preamp installed in the conklin by the next get together.

That Sunday should be find for me.

I can bring some amps and bass's - SVTII, SVT Pre, still trying to get my Pearce Pre squared away, but can bring that.

Got a couple of non-boutiqe basses to bring.

Really interested in meeting anyone that uses alot of effects. I have an octave and chorus but am interested in overdrives and envelope filter.

If I had my kit out here, I would volunteer to play the drums for a bit... would be fine trading out with anyone..

All the best,
Rick

I'm not sure exactly what I'm offering here, but drums are my primary instrument, I've got a fair number of them and if you need to use some we can probably figure something out. Let's make sure we find each other at the next GTG.
