Misconseptions due to screen name or avatar.

Before I changed to my actual name, my handle was TheBigO and I switched between pictures of Oscar Robertson and Otis Redding as my avatar.

Once, in an OT thread I made a tongue-in-cheek comment using the word "honkies" and was given an infraction with the mod comment of "racism goes both ways". This really confused me until I realized that (1) he thought I was being serious and (2) he thought (based on my avatar) that I was black.

That's funny; I once got my thread closed for being racist against black people. Same 2 issues: 1) he thought I was being serious, or at least antagonistic toward black people and 2) He didn't know I was black. Probably was the same mod

Should we list our vital statistics like age, race, favorite condiment, I.Q. and our opinion of Gilligan's Island. That way everyone will know who or what it is okay for us to denigrate.

Slinger is for guitar slinger which actually came about

I'm not actually a Flea fanboy, as it goes, I just called called that once, and I was stuck as hell for a nickname.

Thats seems to be how nicknames go.
Someone called me matticus, introduced me to others as such, and now sometimes people think its my real name.
I only ever use it because it often differentiates me from other Matts and Matthews.
