I used to teach a ton of guitar and bass lessons. A young student once asked me if I could show them how to play Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Chief...

My favorite lyric debate at the time is if the first verse of this song ends with "Two maggots in the iron lung won't copulate..." vs "Two maggots in the eye of love won't copulate...", discovered that it has been a debated topic for a while among the scholars in the Misfits communities. Danzig trolls them over it during shows apparently.
I thought it was "...iron lung" for the longest time and still do really. It doesn't make much sense unless you think about it a bit then it's way cooler, in this recording it sounds like he's saying "The maggots in the iron lung....", there are a a few versions out there.

Up until very recently (I'm embarrased to say) I thought that lyric was "Summer dreams make me feel fine, flowing through the jazz bug in my mind." Never understood what that meant, 'til I mentioned it to my wife while it was playing in the radio and she looked at me like she would a small child and said "It's jasmine, not 'jazz bug.'"
From what I've read, the "armchair" is supposed to be "arms, yeah".

It was the 80's and we were playing a bar that required the band to play a matinee on Saturday afternoon.
The bar encouraged local musicians to bring their instruments and join the band for a few songs. So this guy shows up with his guitar and we start to talk with him about what songs he had in mind and this was his response...
Do you guys know "Slow moving Walter?" We look at each other with very confused looks and let him know that we hadn't even heard of the song, so we asked him to hum a bit of it. He then breaks into... wait for it.... Slow moving Walter, that fire engine guy.
It took us a few minutes to gain our composure after that. I thought our lead guitar player might need medical help he was laughing so hard.
You will never hear that song the same after that!

Where did you read that? It's certainly "armchair"-- a bit of Lennon wordplay.

The best part is that when I watched John Fogerty sing the song during a televised concert, I could swear that he sang the "bathroom" version, with a twinkle in his eye.
