Has anyone taken one of the basses named in the title for a test drive? I’ve searched here and on the general internet, but I can’t find any semblance of a review or even much of an overview, except by Mitchell.

I like the characteristics of the bass as listed on the web site, but would appreciate reading some opinions rather than driving to a distant GC...

Can’t say I’m surprised nobody has responded. It’s like these basses just became available last week, and maybe they did for all I know. If anyone comes along that has had the opportunity to try one out, please give us all some detail on quality, sound, playability, etc.

Is this the Mitchell T239BCE-BST, we’re talking about? If so, it’s a 30” scale, not really a guitar scale bass like the Taylor, Ibanez, and Guild. I picked one up and messed with it a bit this week. I plugged it in and it sounded okay. Set-up was good and volume between strings seemed even. If I didn’t have the baby Ibby, I would consider buying it for practice.

While I moderate that Guitar Scale Acoustic Basses thread, I missed the Mitchell reference. Or saw it and forgot about it. Either is possible. Anyway, I thought I'd post to see if anyone else has spent any time with the bass. The price sure is right.

Over at our Guitar Scale Acoustic Basses thread, you will find quite a bit of love for this class of basses. I play the Michael Kelly version of these basses, with a pinless bridge, and I really love it. I keep it out all the time on a stand, and I play it often throughout the day.

I played it today at a Guitar Center. For fun it's a great adult toy, for professional bass playing.. rejected. I'm not pro so I enjoyed it a lot and now I want one.
I saw the Taylor Mini Bass, too pricy for what I want, a bass to travel and play for myself, some gatherings maybe with acoustic, nylon or pianos. Wanted to try plugging it in but couldn't. I wish I can get one soon.

adding that the fret was buzzing a lot in the lows and when bending highs, but as I have been searching for something of the kind I believe this is the best in price and are now on sale in GC for 219 which is pretty solid price.
