Well, this sucks. Looks like I may be finally hanging up the cleats and retiring from baseball. Between breaking my finger last season, and falling and getting a concussion this winter, I guess age 52 is it. Will keep making bats and will umpire vintage baseball, but 5 years and maybe I'll enter the HOF...
If I buy a ticket.
. Thanks, this is '86 - I'm wearing a suit, chest protector and mask (thin of the Bill Klem or Jocko Conlan photos you've seen). But yeah, just me. Still fun, but not nearly as fun as swinging a bat.Sincerely...I hope it doesn’t suck too hard, for too long.
At 52, I’m thinking you had a good run...and the Man (there was only One back in 1874, right?) In Blue, with a bowler hat and shirt sleeve garters, is the man who keeps it all on the rails.
Enjoy this next phase of your base ball career!![]()
No Bonds or Clemens, though--good.Darn you BBWAA.
Thome over Edgar? That's messed up.

I don't have anything more to add. It's a huge disappointment. Two of those no votes are probably the two ding-a-lings who didn't vote for Junior.Darn you BBWAA.

I'm trying to figure out why Jeter took this job/ownership. Seems like they just are not going to have the budget to build a winner. He's getting rid of young players, so I'm not sure what the long term goal is.
