David Wright returns to the lineup tomorrow. He definitely is too injured to return. His first night back on the roster, and fans were cheering for him to pinch hit. The announcers said they were told it would take him three innings just to prepare for this. I am guessing there are two reasons for this:

He misses being a player, and wants to go out a player.
He has two young daughters who he said have never seen him play.

Cubs win! Henderson has been excellent the past two months. The magic number for the division title is two--still feel those will need to be provided by the Cubs, since the Brewers are hot and facing the dreadful Tigers.

Ok, last night the Cardinals’ pinch runner, on his way to a game-tying run late in the game, slips and falls rounding third. Tonight the ball rolls out of a Detroit outfielder’s glove and becomes the game-winning homer.

I'm going to be at Miller Park tonight and tomorrow. I could see the Brewers clinch the division! I have not been this excited about a Brewer team since 82. They have a legitimate shot at the World Series and they are peaking right now.

Well, the Cards beat the Cubs so they have the slimmest of slim hopes of a WC. I find myself in the rather unenviable task of rooting for the Giants, but the Dodgers are ahead in the 4th.

A Brave killer for sure, and a guy I heard described several times as ‘the best teammate an athlete could ever hope to have’...

Man, what a horrible week for St. Louis. Out of the playoff picture now and currently blowing it against the Cubs. If all holds there will be TWO divisional tie-breakers tomorrow before the wild cards are settled. This is October ball at it's finest.

The Rockies have clinched a playoff spot, so Rocktober begins Monday. Just like them, they have managed to do this without winning their division, which will depend on a game tomorrow in Lost Angles.

This is the best pitching the Rox have ever had, but I shudder to think what will happen if they get far enough into the playoffs for Jon Gray to come up in the rotation. He has been a freakin' disaster for the last few weeks. I wouldn't expect him to get a chance to appear; he is just not consistent enough.
