As for standards, they've changed before--it was just a couple years ago that the unfortunate era of the All-Star game outcome determining home field advantage in the World Series finally came to a well-deserved end.
I got you (and as a fan I've been through this before). But the first determination is overall record, as it should be. The Cubs had a better record that the Brewers in head to head, which is why they hosted today's game.
It's still far from over...
I wonder if that is some kind of MLB record for consecutive division wins?
