MLB 2019

No. Montreal's team will have, but Montreal will never have let out that collective roar that only happens when a city's team wins the World Series. The collective roar can happen several times. I was a part of it in NYC in the 1980s when the Mets beat the Astros to got to the Series and then again after they beat the Red Sox. Seattle let out a similar collective roar after beating the Yankees to get to the ALCS during the Refuse to Lose season. There's nothing like it. Not winning a Super Bowl.
Agree with that....it was just amazing around here in '92 and '93. But, I think it would pale in comparison to what would happen should the Leafs win the Stanley Cup. But I guess we may never know for sure....

So far six managers have gotten axed so far:
- Andy Green, Clint Hurdle, and Brad Ausmus fired,
- Bruce Bochy, and Ned Yost retired.

Phils may let go of Kapler, and I've mentioned Calloway. I think those are the only expected changes, but you never know.

Wow...that almost 20% of all the MLB teams.
Don't forget Joe Maddon. It's rumored he'll take over the Angels. He worked in that organization for 30 years.

The Brewers can't hang their head. Lost the guy who probably would have gotten a second consecutive MVP, and not only didn't throw in the towel, but played even better the final weeks I of the season - almost overcame the Cards to win the division. I tip my hat to them.
Valiant run to the end. They’ll be back.

Manager rumor - supposedly Mickie Calloway will probably be sacked by Thursday, and Joe Girardi is the favorite to take his place. Here is one reason why I would love to be a fly on the wall for those discussions. I assume most of you have heard how Brodie Van Wagenen, the GM, would call him and make "suggestions" (including during the game) on player moves. I'm sure if he tried that with Girardi, Joe would tell him where (and how far up) he could stick the phone. It's been reported that Joe would love to return to managing, and would love to do it in NY, but only if he truly is the boss.
That’s one of the issues I have with Roberts. A manager who won’t stand up to the GM and the freaking computer when everyone knows they’re making a mistake.

Montreal came close in ‘81, only to be robbed by Rick Monday. He’s still my favorite player.

While I’m sure the raw numbers are smaller, (baseball/hockey) the night My Rangers won the 1994 Stanley Cup I roared...then I cried!

Fans of Les Habs have known that feeling many times. ;)
