I have to admit, any year that the Mets get off to a hot start like this year, I can't help but wonder, "When does the Metsing begin?" It always seems to happen! But I hope that this year will be different. I've got some buddies that are Mets fans so I cheer for them a little bit too. They look like they can keep winning, the way they're playing.

Mariners pitchers have been hit by batted balls two days in a row and have lost two low scoring, one run games in a row. The flip side of last season when they always seemed to win those tense games. It's still early and it's only two games in a row on a long road trip east. They lost this series. It's been a while since they lost one.

So I'm watching My St. Louis Cardinals of St. Louis vs the Arizona Whomevers. I saw this interesting name on their lineup:

Which of course reminded me of the rather hilarious baseball names from "Fighting Baseball", which was/is a 90's baseball game that didn't have licensing for the teams or players, so the Japanese programmers came up with "American-sounding names", resulting in this gem of a meme.

Incidentally, the Cruds are up 5-0 after two! Great base running and timely singles. It's like the 80s all over, hopefully with a few more titles.

Jays win again today, take 3 of 4 from Boston :thumbsup: I think this wins brings them to a 7-2 record now in one-run games. It's nice to see them gutting out these close wins, playing fairly solid defense and for the most part pitching well. The offense isn't exactly firing on all cylinders just yet, so once the bats heat up, this team is going to get even tougher.

In other news, my Raps are done :crying: They just didn't play very well tonight in game 6. A real bummer of an ending to an exciting season.

The Jays are legit and appear to have a "team of destiny" aura about them.

The Red Sox are not hitting but they are finding new and exciting ways to lose every day :banghead:. I hope they will find their groove this weekend in Baltimore where they have played well in the past, otherwise they will never catch the Jays/Yanks/Rays.

Jerry Layne was awful in the Brewer-Cub game yesterday. Completely fooled by the catcher's mitt. The catchers were getting less and less subtle about it throughout the game and it kept fooling Layne.

I'm ready for tech to help out. Maybe not robo-ump calling balls and strikes, but how about some augmented reality? Have something in the ump's mask that shows him where the strike zone is.
