Holy moly! The Brewers have hit 20 home runs in a 6-game homestand! Ok, so it was the Cubs and Reds, but still. Tellez came a foot or so shy of a 3 home run (2 grand slam) game yesterday while setting the single game Brewer mark of 8 RBI in one game.
Having said that, I'm very excited about all of the non-home run offense this year. Yes, they have hit a lot of home runs, but they had plenty of players on base for them.

It's high time for the umps to take care of their biz to maintain their credibility. They CAN NOT let this go unpunished. Angel needs to go, too.
Now on to much more important matters. Mets just hung a 7 run top of the 9th on the Phillies to win 8-7!

The balls are less lively, both be design and the humidors. IMO it's a much better game without it becoming home run derby. The game the past few years was dissolving into slow pitch softball.
We are moving into the humid part of the season in most of the country. Maybe it's time to turn off the humidors or only use them for Tiant's cigars.
I'm not a fan of home run derby, but hitters need to be rewarded for barreling up balls against the velocity and stuff of today's pitchers. Find the Happy Median.

I don't think I even have seen this before. All 5 teams in the NL West division are over 500 in wins at the same time. Kind of unusual.

The NL West in baseball and the AFC West in football are both extremely strong divisions right now.

Both Rockies and Diamondbacks playing above their heads right now. Frankly, I think SF will be taking a step back. No Posey, and getting older.
If you can wait until the end of the month, the Reds have two games against the listless Red Sox.

The Braves made 2 great plays that kept the Brewers from taking the lead. I hate losing, but losing because of those kinds of plays takes some of the sting out of it.
The Mariners have been killing me! At least they won today. 2-1 in 10. That is a lot of futility on both sides. The good thing is the Mariners did a bit of a refuse to lose thing. Tied it in the 9th and then won it in the 10th.
The Jays dropped 3 of 4 over the weekend against Cleveland 
They're still 17-13 despite the lineup not exactly firing on all cylinders yet, and they've played mostly good teams to start the season. On the whole, I think it's a positive that they can win games even though they're not all performing as expected... but I really want to see some more consistency from the bats sometime soon!
I'll be at the Dome on Wednesday night next week to see the Jays play the M's. I haven't been to a ball game in a few years. Very excited!
