At least the Brewers weren't the only ones who had trouble with the Braves' lineup.

After the drubbing yesterday too. And it’s currently 4-0 in game 3 of the series. Go Braves! But there were 4 different players with 3 runs today. And only one player in that game who didn’t score. That’s messed up.

And it usually is. Until the last few seasons, I was already thinking about football at this time of year.

It's hard not to think about football, but only in terms of "Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

I'm focused on what will happen to the Pac 4 and preparing for the last Pac-12 season. We'll be in Pullman for the CU game Nov. 17, and given the explosion of the conference, would have stayed over a week for the (last) Apple Cup but unfortunately it will be played in Seattle. My wife, also a lifelong Coug, resolved any question by stating that she has never set foot in "that" stadium and will not start now.

The Rockies certainly aren't doing much to distract us from football....

Well gosh. The Mariners lost a series to the Orioles. The first game was a blowout the Mariners won. Then the Orioles got by them in much closer games. Too bad the Mariners used up all their runs in the first game. I hate it when that happens.

Yeah, good enough to take two of three from the suddenly cooling Mariners. Who have now lost one to KC. Ouch. And Texas hasn't taken their long awaited nosedive.

Got my wife a cool gift that just arrived yesterday. She is a diehard Dodger's fan and her favorite and lucky number is 23. So I ordered this custom made baseball jersey through Amazon as a surprise gift. Such a deal at less than $30 and and most important, she loves it.

And the Mariners didn't. Three games back of Texas with a out 35 games to go. I will shut up now, for fear of jinxing them. Ah, no I won't. It sure will be fun for the next month and a half. Agony, of course, but the best kind.

Yeah. Astros are going to squeeze themselves out of the postseason. Mariners look good and so the rangers. And Houston is declining at the moment.

My Bravos broke 80 wins mid August and could clinch within a couple weeks. They look vulnerable in relief though. Caught up to tie and gave away the game yesterday. Can’t win them all but that was a tough way to lose.

One nice thing about thing time of the season - you can get some good prices on tickets. Mets are shot for the season, but still playing some interesting ball. Just got some box seats, one level up from field, front row, for $22 each. And it's a good giveaway night as well.
