It’s the altitude and park that has destroyed free agent pitchers. The Rockies have had plenty of great players. It’ll happen some day. And I will be rooting for them in the Series when it does. Unless they’re playing the Angels. But the odds of that happening are pretty slim.

When I a working I will stop and pay attention if I hear the crowds making noise. Right now I am watching the game on Gameday, an online simulation of the game.

One of the things I'll do far more whenever I retire is "watch" baseball on the radio.

The Mariners actually won a game today. Five runs in the top of the tenth is one way to do it. Why save up the runs for extra innings? Because they are the Mariners and don't do easy. Gilbert almost made it through eight but gave up a two out home run in the seventh. Oh, well. Giving up one run in 7.2 innings is acceptable. He's on his way to being an ace.

Giants won today 7 to 1 and the got their first two stolen bases of the year. Hicks pitched 6 strong innings today and only allowed one earned run. The bullpen didn't allow any. Good hitting today also. Chapman went two for four, the rookie Fitzgerald went two for three to go with his two stolen bases, and light hitting Ahmed wend three for three. There is hope Giants fans, the season is young.

And the Dodgers lost. They had a chance in the ninth. Roberts pinch hit the 1 for 26 Chris Taylor for Outman who honored in the last two games. Lefty righty nonsense. Tommy is turning over in his grave. It will be a long season.

I watch it on the radio all the time. Rick Monday and Charlie Steiner for the Dodgers. It doesn’t get any better than them.

There are quite a few runs in Cincinnati this week. The Brewers lost 10-8 on Monday, won 9-5 yesterday, and are winning 7-2 today. I'm loving the offense so far this year. And the defense has been pretty good as well. Turang should get some consideration for a Gold Glove this year.

Stupid Jays!
I'm getting more and more frustrated by the Blue Jays "sticking to the plan" attitude. It's remarkable to me that with all the years of experience they have on the bench, they continually stick to the plan they have in place, regardless of the performance of the players. Look at what they did to Berrios in last years playoffs! Well, they are doing it again this year as well. Kikuchi was pitching great in yesterday's game, yet they still pulled him at around 80 pitches to put in a depleted bull pen.
It's good to have a plan, but it's better to use your eyes and see that the performance of the player is exceeding their expectations, but no, the plan is their gold standard!

I've been lucky, Uecker has been calling the Brewer games my entire life. He's done fewer games recently, and this year looks like even fewer, but I cherish every game I get to hear.
