MLB 2024

So I’m looking ahead at the schedule. The MLB planners have the Dodgers flying to Cin for three starting Friday, then to NY for three with the Mets. Then Back to L.A. for two with the Rockies. They get back on a plane to Pitt for three, then to NY for three with the Yankees. Someone needs a geography lesson.

I have been way too busy for the last ump-teen years to get to a ball game. Which is shameful. The park the Mariners play in, whatever it's called these days, is a beautiful place to be and a beautiful place to watch a game. Some seats are better than others, but I have never had a bad seat there.

I spoke too soon about the Mariners being guaranteed a series win in New York. This is a four game series. They are guaranteed a split with the Yankees. If they win today, they take the series. I hope I didn't jinx them. If they tank, it's my fault.

It’s getting easier to use public transit to get to games.
https://www.metro.net/riding/dodger-stadium-express/

Here in N. Texas we've got DART light rail almost to the front door at AAC where the Mavericks and Stars play. There's also rail to airports, Fort Worth, Denton and Dallas 'burbs.

Yet in Arlington where the Rangers and Cowboys play, exactly halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, there's no public transit; zip; nada, not even a bus system. There's not even a rail stop on the Dallas/Fort Worth commuter rail.

Of the local cities tied into the local light and commuter rail lines, Hurst-Euless-Bedford has a population of 162,000; Richardson, 188,000; Irving has 255,000; Plano, 290,000; Fort Worth, 957,000; Dallas, 1,300,000. Then there are dozens of smaller, rail connected 'burbs.

Arlington's population is 395,000. How embarrassing for Arlington.

The cards swept the O’s? Wha?!?

IKR?!?!? Team average is still low but they are coming alive as of late. Maysn Winn in particular is up to .295, which is astronomical for the Cruds so far this year. Cards been rolling since a near sweep-loss to the Brewers and are only 5 back now:

If the Brewers are in first, I look at how far in front of the Cards we are. They're the ones I'm afraid of.

Well crap the Cubs @ Cards game is in rain delay. Lots of good stories so far from Joe Buck and Skip Caray, but now it's re-runs until/if the game takes place.

EDIT: CRAP! Game postponed. Hopefully they can make it up over the weekend.

Hope it continues. Dodgers are there for three starting Monday.
The Giants are warming them up for the Dodgers. Another late inning comeback for the Giants last night. Thats's three in a row now where they have gone into the eight inning behind four runs or more and come back to win. They are starting to believe they are never out of a game.

The Giants win their fourth straight comeback game. I may be getting a bit of a chip on my shoulder about MLB.com. Every time I read about another Giants come from behind on MLB.Com the story is always about how the other team blew it, never gives credit to the Giants and seldom even mentions them. No mention of the Giants winning eight of their last ten games either. Why I oughta ...
