MLB 2024

I am getting lazy in my old age and now prefer to watch the Dodger games in my living room on a big screen TV. I can pause the game, take a pee and grab a drink, rewind to see a play again, have the game commentated with interesting facts about a player and most of all I do not have to deal with traffic jams leaving the stadium parking lot plus the heavy freeway traffic on the way home. Just sayin.
Yeah. But we’re going tonight. It’s Mookie night!

Some folks do both, watching the game at the ballpark with a portable radio in hand to also hear the play-by-play.

It started getting loud here when Disney bought the Angels. The Dodgers started following suit a few years later. And it seems to have become progressively louder every season.
The Kingdome was deafening even when it was empty. It was the nature of that awful cavern. It was also pretty entertaining. The crowds in 1995 during the Refuse to Lose season were like a college football crowd. Seattle is pretty stolid until it isn't.

Slight change of subject - if the Mariners manage to pull off a winning record on the current road trip, I'm going to need to know about the magic hat Bent has and where to get one.

OK, never mind then. I don't want to jinx anything. I don't know what you are talking about.

The Mariners are going to win this series against the Yankees, no matter what happens today. A sweep would sure be nice, but I won't hold my breath. Washington isn't a great team so far this season, and they are next. As long as the Mariners play like they are doing against the Yankees, they will be fine. If they revert against Washington, it will be true to form and disappointing. Thinking like this is proof that I'm a well trained Mariners fan.

At the Ravine last night!

They unfortunately lost. Stone had a rough second inning and they never recovered. Former fan favorite Joc Pederson hit a three run shot to compound the misery. Rubber game tonight. Then finally a day off.
Yep, a disappointing lost last night. I like your photo. Got to say, even though Dodger Stadium is now the third oldest park in the league, it still remains to be one of the prettiest settings in MLB. I also like how perfectly symmetric the playing field is.

You need to move. Used to ride my bike to ballgames, now I take public transit. No traffic no headaches.

SFGiants went into the bottom of the ninth with a four run lead and lost in the tenth inning. Some rookie mistakes, bad pitching and not taking advantage of run scoring opportunities with men in scoring position. Really getting tired of Soler, man on third and man on second with two outs. He did his usual, he struck out.
Besides that the team seems to be taking the loss well, admitting their mistakes and moving on. Today is another game. Of course there was this headline. "After eight innings of smooth sailing, Giants sunk by Pirates.

We are lucky to have it. And I’m a fan of Petco in San Diego too. Anaheim, not so much. Although it’s a heck of a lot better now than it was in the sixties and after the Rams made it worse before the remodel in the late nineties.
