Two wins against the Astros makes me happy. Three wins against the Astros and a series sweep would make me even happier. Especially if Texas drops one today. Last night was a typical Mariners sweat it out win. The got a sac fly in the 10th to win the game 2-1. Offense? What's that?

I wouldn’t be too concerned. They’re still well above .500! I think Atlanta is at least a Wild Card team. Perhaps still the division winner at the end of the year if the Phillies can’t keep up this early hot streak. They’re getting nothing from Strider this year, Matt Olson is not performing as well as last year, and now Acuna is out. That’s tough. I guess they’ve been without Sean Murphy up until this week too? On the plus side, Travis d’Arnaud seems to be having a nice bounce-back, and Chris Sale’s numbers look great. They’re still a solid team despite injuries and some under-performance.

They have now won a series against two of the best teams in baseball, and won 7 of their last 12. They are now 20 of 25, so they haven't dug themselves out of the hole they made early, and frankly, no one thinks they will. For them to be any good they'd have to take a page from this part of Major League...

With an open spot on the roster maybe they could use a new DH. Jorge Soler is who the Mets need.

And in reading stories about Hernandez, one writer says he's not the worst ump in MLB, he just has a talent for making by far the worst individual calls. Regardless, I don't think he will be missed.
