MLB 2024

"A great man doesn't seek to lead, he is called to it."

A sad day for Dodger fans. Even though we took the series from KC, lead off hitter Mookie Betts was hit in the hand by a 98 mph pitch thrown by Dan Altavilla and fracturing bone(s) in Mookie's hand. What got many Dodger fans even more upset is the KC manager, Matt Quatraro, sent out relief pitcher Altvilla who has an ERA of 33.75 when he entered the game which shows he has little control over his fast ball. At this time they say Mookie will be out for 2-3 months.

Well my Cruds tried to blow it against the lowly Marlins but the Marlins wouldn't let them. The usually damn near unhittable Romero allowed a three run bomb in the 8th to tie it but Masyn Wynn hit a two run blast in the 11th and they hung on to win by 1. Over .500 for the first time since early April. Look out, Mariners!

Tough last week for the Dodgers. They lost two of three to the Rangers. They managed to take two of three from the Royals but lost Mookie, probably until September. And they lost Yamamoto. They avoided letting the Rookies come back in the ninth last night. Three more this week against the Rookies. The break can’t come soon enough.

The Mariners just swept the Rangers. Mariners fans are getting nosebleeds from being so far ahead. Nine games is usually how much ground the Mariners have to make up on a good day, not how many games they are ahead of Texas and Houston. Cleveland will be a reality check. Cleveland can pitch and hit. The Mariners only pitch, so it seems for most of the season. If they can hang with Cleveland and beat them, it says a lot. If they get swept, it sucks. If they sweep, tie a string to my toe so I don't float away in a cloud of bliss.

Nah, no clouds of bliss for Mariners fans. That's been outlawed for close to 50 years.
