MLB 2024

I’m so happy the Red Sox didn’t lose yesterday!

white Sox did though

unrelated of course
Oh, the White Sox are dreadful. They might break the record for worst record of all time. As a Cubs fan, this delights me.:D It's also wild, because just 3-4 years ago everyone was raving about their young core. They looked like a team on the rise.

I see the Rockies are third worst, ahead of the White Sox and the Marlins. I suppose we'll go to a game this year, but I'm not motivated yet. Maybe the fireworks games on July 3 or 4th.

They gave the Mariners a handful last night. For a while anyway.

Tonight's Scoreboard, L.A. Dodgers 15 - Texas Rangers 2.
I am hoping the Dodgers did not release all their offense in just this one game and will have some left overs for the next two games of the series.
As long as they beat Texas, I don't care about the score. The Mariners have two more against the White Sox. I hope they don't play down to the dismal Sox and drop one of those. Then Texas comes to town after the Dodgers soften them up. I hope.

After that is a long road trip that starts in Cleveland. That's going to be a tough series. We will see if the Mariners measure up when they play Cleveland.

The Jays have traded Cavan Biggio to the Dodgers for a minor league pitcher I've never heard of. Maybe he can help the Jays' bullpen? They sure need help in the 'pen!

Biggio is a versatile defender. Not necessarily a Gold Glover at any spot, but he can play quite a few positions. At the plate, he's got great awareness of the strike zone, and the potential to add a bit of pop to a lineup. Problem is, his swing has some holes in it. He used to take more walks. Then pitchers figured out they can pound the zone against him and he'll get himself out. No need to nibble.

Dodgers fans should set expectations very low. But I hope Cavan finds some success in L.A.

Some say that the Dodger organization and coaches are the best in MLB when it comes to correcting bad habits picked up overtime by players. They must see something in him that they feel is correctable. I guess we will see.

The Mariners farm system seems pretty well stocked. I hope they don't trade away the future at the deadline. I can't imagine them picking up anybody for a reasonable price who could help all that much. Yeah, they need hitting. Who is going to be available who will be able to step in and push things? Especially at a price that's not stupid. Sometimes the trade you don't make is the best trade. I sure hope DiPoto knows that.

I'm feeling the same way about the Brewers. We need pitching, but what's the price going to be? It'll be an interesting trade deadline this year.

But Jerry loves trading!

Coincidentally, The Athletic posted an article this morning about teams with the best prospect trade chips for trade deadline deals, and the M’s topped the list.
