For what they are paying him, he better be a little more than pretty good. That much money for a DH is insane. I can't see him pitching again much. He’s pretty good at baseball!

I won’t be shocked if he’s pitching again eventually. Maybe next year? It’s not an easy thing to do of course, but it’s hard to bet against him given what he’s already accomplished thus far.For what they are paying him, he better be a little more than pretty good. Yes, but for how long? His elbow is toast. He is on his second Tommy John. That won't end well if he really lets it rip.I won’t be shocked if he’s pitching again eventually. Maybe next year? Yep. But the games they are playing with tax loopholes will come back to bite them. So we’ll see. I just hope they come to their senses and get a real manager. They should have four or five WS titles over the last ten years. But no. Only one. In the Covid shortened forty game season.Man, I'd be pissed if I signed with the Dodgers, of all teams, and actually had to take a pay cut. The payroll is already like a billion, what's a little more?![]()
As I mentioned above somewhere, they don’t care if they only get a couple of seasons of him as a pitcher. They believe he is Babe Ruth incarnated. And he may well be. They expect at least 500 homers over the next ten years. I’m not betting against him doing it.Yes, but for how long? His elbow is toast. He is on his second Tommy John. Yeah, I don’t really have the answers, but he’s a unicorn in baseball. If anyone is going to find a way, it is Ohtani. I assume he still wants to pitch. I think he’s talented enough as a pitcher to be able to get by with reduced velo, if that’s the case after his second TJ surgery.Yes, but for how long? His elbow is toast. I’m quite enjoying Roberts complete and total ineptitude as a manager being a former dodger fan. They definitely could have 3 more WS wins since his tenure started. What do you do?Yep. Roberts needs to be gone. Here’s hoping.
I bleed the blue. So grin and bear it.I’m quite enjoying Roberts complete and total ineptitude as a manager being a former dodger fan. They definitely could have 3 more WS wins since his tenure started. What do you do?
I’ll root for my floppy Cards!

Unfortunately I have to agree. And it makes me very, very sad. I want to make that 6 hour drive again to see a World Series game like I did in 2011. And I quote "We will see you tommmaaaaaarrrrroooooo night!!!!"I don't think "our" Cards have a hope in hell until there are some serious changes in the front office and/or ownership.

I bleed Mariners blue. It makes for a lot of painful scars after a while. But this is the year. I just know it. No kidding this time.I bleed the blue. So grin and bear it.
It was an amazing night. It was 30 something degrees and the wind was blowing. I had on everything I had brought plus a "Rally Squirrel" sweatshirt that I bought there. I was three rows from the top concourse right at the 3rd base foul pole. I gave $600 for the seat! My wife would have killed me and I didn't tell her how much I paid for years. I got online searching for a ticket for the next night but SRO were starting at $1200. I wanted to stay married so I went home.Oh wow! Only the greatest game in post season history. (Yeah, I'm biased but still.)
