Not often you get to see two guys with 3,000 strikeouts face off against each other! They both went six innings last night. Unfortunately the Jays came out on the losing end.Cool moment between greats after last nights game as they exchanged Jerseys.

Finale today. Glasnow and Lauer. Should be good. Not often you get to see two guys with 3,000 strikeouts face off against each other! They both went six innings last night. Unfortunately the Jays came out on the losing end.
I sure hope the Jays can salvage one win today! Lauer has been quite the find for Toronto. He went from minor league depth to long reliever to reliable fifth starter rather quickly. Nobody had any expectations for him. He wasn’t even in the majors last year. He was in the KBO. Navigating the Dodger lineup won’t be easy though.Finale today. Glasnow and Lauer. Should be good.
They've really been Mets'ing it up lately! Still time to turn it around though. A Mets hot streak coinciding with a Phillies cold streak would be ideal. I think NYM still plays the Phils a couple more times in August and September too. Perfect opportunity to make up ground. And I'm still a Met fan????
And that's a problem? Well, it is this week, because the Mets play the Mariners. The Mariners also play the Phills. This could be a pretty rough road trip. And I'm still a Met fan????
Yep.The Angels are 5-0 against the Dodgers this season!
It's in the water up in Seattle. Everyone is faster in the thin air this far north. What’s up with Josh Naylor all of a sudden being a base stealer? He stole 11 bags in 93 games with Arizona before the trade deadline (only caught twice). Now he’s got another 11 bags in just 15 games with Seattle. His previous season high for steals was 10 in 2023 with Cleveland (121 games). He’s a pretty slow runner. Lots of faster dudes in the MLB. Makes you wonder how many more bases lots of other guys could steal if they really put their minds to it![]()
The Dodgers need to cut that out. They need to be lousy against the Mariners, not against the Angels. Get with the program, Dodgers! The Angels are 5-0 against the Dodgers this season!
I was looking at the Angel's splits earlier and they're a weird team. I guess they looked kinda good for a bit earlier in the season. A 7-0 record vs. the A's makes sense because the A's are not a great team. But 5-0 against the Dodgers and 5-1 against the Red Sox is fairly impressive. They've played the M's fairly closely too (4-5 record against them this season). The Dodgers need to cut that out. They need to be lousy against the Mariners, not against the Angels. Yeah. If they had Ohtani, they’d be a contender.I was looking at the Angel's splits earlier and they're a weird team. I guess they looked kinda good for a bit earlier in the season. We were at the Padres/Giants game last night but most everyone there towards the end and after the game were paying attention to the Dodgers/Angels game. They had the score on the side board but pulled it down as soon as our game ended (boo). We were just outside the stadium when all of the city blocks around the ball park suddenly erupted in loud cheers. So the Dodgers drop two at Anaheim and the Padres catch them. We’ll see how Ohtani pitches against the Angels tonight. San Diego coming up for three starting Friday.
It sure seems that the race is on. Unfortunately, the Dodgers and Padres won’t play in September. But there are seven games between the Dodgers and Giants in September. Will the Giants play the spoiler? We were at the Padres/Giants game last night but most everyone there towards the end and after the game were paying attention to the Dodgers/Angels game. The Angels won in the 10th.
Despite the home team losing, that game united an entire park of fans that were far from united over the last three hours before they spilled out onto the streets. Is was a very cool energy at that moment for 35K+ people to all hate on the Dodgers equally. Viiiiibe!
Not a chance of the Giants spoiling unless they finally get bats. The season started off better than expected but now the second half has been worse than expected. It sure seems that the race is on.
