And lets hope that the umps get out of the way tonight! Too many bad calls of late.Jays lose, Yankees win. PainToronto's lineup is in a funk right now. Can't buy a run. And tonight Garrett Crochet is starting for Boston. It could be another tough watch.
My wife and I are going to the game tonight, celebrating our 32nd anniversary. The woman is a saint!

Re: the umps: I try not to think about that stuff too much... but that Varsho catch in KC that was called a trap, reviewed, and then not overturned was pretty awful. Sure looked like a catch to me. They had a few different camera angles. I dunno what the review people in NY were seeing. The calls against George last night were tough. The hit that was called foul was very close. The 3B ump seemed to be in good position to see and make the call. I dunno, maybe he was right and it was just a hair foul. Looked like it might have been fair to me. Then the outside third strike call to end the at-bat. Ugh. Bases loaded too...

Looks like only re-runs on TV tonight. Jays losing, Yanks winning. Watched this episode last night already 
The Yankees need to lose a couple. The Jays are already doing that. Why? So the Mariners can be the top seed! Or maybe not. In 2001, the last time they had the best regular season record, it didn't end well.
How ‘bout that Skenes guy. Pretty good pitcher! Reminds me a bit of when Halladay was the one of the only bright spots on some crummy Blue Jays teams

We went to see the Giants play the Cardinals last night. Webb gave up 3 in the 1st but settled down. Then the Giants got 5 in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th and one more in the 6th. Webb kept the Cards to only 3 more hits until he left the game. Score 3-8
Then the wheels fell right the <blank> off in the 7th.
The Cardinals wasted no time in getting 4 off of Lucchesi and Bivens making the score 7-8 Giants*
*Seriously, a 95 mph fastball right down the middle to Arenado with 2 on? What in the ever-lovin'...
Then the 9th inning brought us the Ryan Walker Light Show and Abject Failure.
In the 9th Walker gave up 1 and I was left thinking "Great, we're here for extras of this" but we were saved from potentially winning the game with Walker's next pitch that lost the game for the anemic Giants offense.
Not only did the Giants lose the game they lost the season and were kicked right out of the post-season last night. Honestly, this team came out of the start of the season a lot beter than I expected. However, they also tanked June, July, half of August, and now. Half of the starting rotation is out with injurys and the new guy who made the All Star Game needs Tommy John.
A Rafel Devers-level failure of a season all the way around. I loved it.

Agreed. There's a lot of things I could say about the Giants season but surprisingly I'm not AS DISAPPOINTED as I expected to be. There were some very fun and exciting moments mixed in with the awful and absurd ones. I'll admit I wandered away here and there and didn't keep up with the season fully but I see the potential of some of the rookies out there that want to make baseball fun and have a winning chance. Let's see what Buster comes up with next. Until next Spring I suppose....

Wow, the Philthies hit a franchise-record 8 home runs in their 11-1 win over Miami.

Still, there is a lot of baseball left to love this season. The Giants will get there next year.
Yankees tied the Jays at 90 wins. In six of their last seven games, Toronto has scored only one run or less. It's hard to win ball games that way! 
The hitters all seem to be pressing a bit too much. It also hurts that Bo went out with an injury. He's an important part of the lineup. I suppose it could be worse... Detroit is falling apart in September and there is still a chance they miss out on the postseason altogether. I'm happy to see the M's continuing their winning ways of late. 60 HRs for Cal and they won the division! If the Jays can't figure themselves out and keep going like this, they will flame out of the WC round very fast, and then I can become a bandwagon M's fan.

As a Cleveland native, it's been astonishing watching how the Guardians got it together the last couple of months, not only contending for the wildcard, but the division. Although I feel a bad for Tigers fans, as watching a collapse isn't fun. But in either case, it looks like they'll play each other in the first playoff round, and both teams can rise to the occasion or fall on their faces at any time.
Other than Cleveland, I'm hoping the Reds edge out the Mets for the last NL wild card spot, mostly for Tito vs Oodles of Money. And for Toronto and Seattle, as I've liked visiting both cities.

Super fun baseball week. As a Yanks fan safe knowing they are in but cool if they could pull off winning the division. Would like to see the Mets collapse since Soto bailed on the Yanks (though he is fun to watch and have to admit he's amazing and has his best years ahead of him).
Also didn't want to see Cal break Judges single season AL home run record but now kind of rooting for him and he probably deserves MVP.

Congrats on taking the Division. The Dodgers took the west today. So the pressure is off for the weekend series with you guys, at least for the Dodgers as they’ll go in as the three seed no matter what happens. So look for some guys getting some rest, some pitching experiments, etc., as they try to decide what arms will make the roster. As things sit at the moment, it’s looking like the Cubs in the first round.
That’ll be a good series. Hoping the Mets miss out too. Love to see the Reds make it.
