MLB 2025

If you have subscription or access to The Athletic there is an article written this morning by Andrew Baggarly that sums up the season very well.

Search for “underachieving Giants get eliminated” 😕

Still, there is a lot of baseball left to love this season. The Giants will get there next year.
They made a surprise run which is a good omen.

Blue Jays... win!? 🤩 Massive 6-run 6th inning last night. Varsho's grand slam was so badly needed. Then a Springer dinger a few at bats later. It was a bullpen game for Toronto so I had my trepidations, but the pitchers were perfect through the first 6 innings. Then the bats finally woke up and turned a 0-0 game into 6-0.

The Yankees have of course kept winning, which complicates matters. I'll give the White Sox some credit. They were in position to win a couple of these games. They're just a bad team that can't finish the job. I appreciate the effort though.

Toronto is still in control of their destiny. All they have to do is win the final three games and it doesn't matter what NYY does. Toronto hosts Tampa (10-13 record in September) over the weekend while NYY hosts Baltimore (14-8 in September). I hope the O's can give the Yankees some trouble over the weekend.

Super fun baseball week. As a Yanks fan safe knowing they are in but cool if they could pull off winning the division. Would like to see the Mets collapse since Soto bailed on the Yanks (though he is fun to watch and have to admit he's amazing and has his best years ahead of him).
Also didn't want to see Cal break Judges single season AL home run record but now kind of rooting for him and he probably deserves MVP.
I very much want Cal to hit three more in the next couple games. Even if he doesn't, 60 is amazing, let alone for a catcher. Plus, he is the Big Dumper. 'Nuff said.

Phillies lost, so the Brewers have the best record in baseball. I'd feel a whole lot better if we would have won more than two series since the end of the 14 game winning streak. Oh well.

The last time the Brewers had the best record in baseball, they had a three game lead over the Orioles with a four game series in Baltimore to finish the season. They lost the first three, setting up a winner take all season finale. The Brewers won, then made it to their only World Series appearance.

I'm hoping the week off gets our guys healthy and gets them the break they need to get out of their funk. We'll be there for Game 1 on Saturday. Go Brewers Go!

Love your stadium there... awesome place to watch baseball and get into and out of.

Hoping my Cubbies are in the visitor's dugout on Saturday! We'll have our hands full getting by the Padres. Both teams are limping into the playoffs...

Not the best year to be a Braves fan, but everyone has a bad year (or decade) now and then. I'd love to see a small-market team (like Milwaukee) win it all.

Still not over seeing Freddie Freeman in a Dodgers uni.
One of the best acquisitions the Dodgers ever made. You can blame the Braves management on that. We love "Steady Freddie" here in LA.

The Mariners will rise to that occasion. I expect them to screw up the Rockies series and then sweep the Dodgers. It would be a Mariners thing to do.

Stewie here. I was predicting that the Dodgers would take 2 out of 3 with the Mariners which they have now done. Today, with Kershaw starting pitching for his very last game during the regular season before he retires,, I would love to see him get the win. That would be fitting after 18 years with the Dodgers.
