Modded Schecter Model T...worth picking up?

Some of those were passive to begin with. Some of the passive ones had actual BASSLINES pickups, some had "Duncan designed" pickups. That one may have had the "designed" Duncans. I could understand why a PO would dump them for something better like Barts, and even replace the s/c with a MM. That could be a great sounding bass as-is! If the existing P pickup is weak, the CS '62 might be just the thing! Good price?...I'd say grab it, but watch the weight.
depends on price and how clean the MM pickup route was done. but awesome basses.

Price is a steal, routing looks good. Regarding tone, is it going to be comparable to a Stingray H?
I don't think so, no. It's way too far back and much of the sound of a Stingray, IMHO, comes from the preamp.
I experimented, regrettably, with one of my P basses and added a MM pickup right up against the pickguard and never could make it sound like anything I'd want to hear, too nasal.
I see...This will be a sub-$100 purchase value for me so I do lean on getting it even if I need to modify it some more or put it back to a bit more stock configuration by using my spare CS '62 Precision pickup.
I had the five string version. It actually was a passive on that was modded for active. I never bonded with it ergonomically (I don't get along with slab bodies), but it was a well made bass with a nice neck. At under $100 I would run, not walk.
When you can, meet somewhere halfway. When you have someone drive an hour and a half for a trade / purchase, it can be a power move. They know you don't want to waste the drive, so I think I want another $50 after thinking about it.
I actually live outside of town and we go to the city once every 2 weeks or so. We will for sure meet somewhere neutral when we trade.
Just wanted to add that -though you didn't list the exact model- for folks who don't know, Squire doesn't have an acoustic guitar anymore, so entry-level Fender acoustic is basically a "squire affinity" acoustic.
Might help folks judge the value proposition of the proposed trade.
It's also why -assuming the bass in good playing condition- it's such an easy "go for it" from my perspective.
On a sub $100 no-cash trade for something I no longer wanted or used? I’d do it if the neck looked good.
I have a stock Model T just like the one in the photo. Mine has the "Duncan designed" pickups, and is a little bit thin sounding. I've been thinking of dropping some EMG geezers for a different flavor.
Other than that, the bass itself is a fine instrument that I'll probably never sell.

Here it is after a quick setup to put it in its paces. Body cleaned, neck oiled, frets polished, strings replaced, neck adjusted, action lowered....and voila! The thng came alive!
Tone and volume knob is interchanged, adjustments are opposite of the usual clockwise to increase volume/brighten tone so something must have been switched on the wiring. Also, the former owner thought it was a good idea to fill the pickup cavity with a piece of wood so not sure if I want to tackle that or just continue using the current MM Bartolini pickup.
Overall, very happy with the bass!
