there's some areas the original bridge hid (that I drilled out myself when I was lightening the bass) that I'm going to use the original bridge to cover up, but It's not going to be easy

modding my T-40

Thanks. I've got this vision in my head of what I want it to look like when I'm done. If I can make it happen, I'll be thrilled
here it is! The bridge was a little harder to mod than I thought it would be, but in the end it looks like I was hoping it would.

I don't think it's ugly at all. The only thing I would explore is whether or not the bracket on which the individual saddles are mounted could be trimmed to fit under the Peavey bridge...

May I suggest taking off the metal overhang with a dremel or something, it would add to a cleaner look now that you{ve got the original bridge on there. Or would that affect the integrity of the bridge?
The guy who made the nut said a string tree isn't even needed. I added one from a t60 just because I like the way it looks.
I Wish I could, but the sides of the bridge are the only thing holding the top and bottom bars on.

I actually had to cut more away on the topside than I planned. If I ever do this again. I'll plan from the beginning to remove the inner bar that goes across the top side near the single screw hole.

Good to know about the string spacing. I thought maybe you would have to nudge the B and G to the edges of the fretboard but if you managed to keep them stock spread then that Kahler must allow for some wicked tight spacing

yeah, it's tight. I find that I can't "dig in" on the strings as much as I used to, but that's probably a good thing, because honestly I did that too much and it would rip my fingers to shreads
I think you could go a bit wider on your spacing. I got one of these to use on a 5 string conversion using T-40 pups. Spacing is 16mm (64mm - 2.5" total).
Looks like it would fill that hole better.

I might experiment with the current bridge. Wouldn't spreading the bridge really throw off the intonation on the outer strings? or could that be compensated for by adjusting the saddles?
