enjoi - I only posted them because sleepy wanted to see some photos of my 34" scale / 26 fret Q5. Next time I'll try to make her look a bit less sexy, which is easier said than done 
. The strings are indeed D'Addario - XL (45-130). As for the EMGs, I'm actually swapping them out soon for some Bartolini quad coils.

I actually just cleaned her up last weekend:
A) that is a beautiful top on that bass.
B) the bridge is farther up than mine (35" scale, 24 fret). Is that how they make it a 34" scale? If the overall length of the bass is the same, how does it make it easier to play? Or is it about string tension?

Nice and light! The head is a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 (I also use it with a GB Streamliner 900). It handles the Low B very well.

I've been jonesing for a 5-string Quantum since the 1990s and am starting to think about making that happen despite the high prices. (I currently have and love an old bassstar). The thing is, I could never get over the narrower 5-string spacing (compared with 4).
I'm wondering if the experts here can tell me when they starting making 5-strings with the 19mm spacing between strings at the bridge vs the smaller 17mm. I know newer Quantums seem to have this, but is there an exact cutoff date? Thank you.
