Me too, and it all seems plausible. I know a little about why they folded but can't say much at this point; I would rather wait and hear it from the horse's mouth. Anxious to hear.....

Don't know if anyone had noticed, but all the Modulus basses on the Planet Bass site are not new. Check the headstock photos.. Serial numbers are all old ones..

While the idea that Bobby is behind the Modulus resurrection is plausible I find it somewhat hard to believe. I don't think bobby has been seen playing a modulus in ~2 decades. I think it odd that he would care enough about modulus when his modulus playing days have long passed.
wisconsin - Rich Hoeg built Bobby three different versions of the custom Modulus guitar they designed together. The final incarnation (blue) got a good deal of stage time in both RatDog and Furthur - I personally remember seeing it onstage as recently as summer 2012.
JFMusic, Do you have images of these guitars? Is it the blue hollowbody with the lightning bolt F holes? I just assumed the black knife models were the only ones he ever played (80's and 90's)

that article is confusing.. is it Bobby's guitar? or is that Hoeg a maker of a copy or what in the world is up?? It does say there are 3 of the lightning bolt G3's and Bobby has been using them for the last 8 years.
Complete with the Modulus name even.. I think I just drooled a little on my keyboard looking at those necks
Yeah, I saw the FB pics posted earlier. This is promising though don't know about the structure of the company or who is involved but eagerly awaiting to find out.
