Last night, I got my Q6SS back from my luthier. Plugged her in and does it sing.. It is loaded with an EMG and EMG preamp. Bright is a slight term for the bass.. I have a question for other Mod 6 peoples... Mine seems to be really light... Much lighter than any of my other ones... Curious as to if anyone else has this going on? My Q6 is much lighter than either of my Genesis 5's as well. I will put her on the scale tonight when I get home, but it sure seems a bunch lighter

does it have a swamp ash body? i had a q6 back in the 90's that had a quilt top on a swamp ash body and that thing was feather-light. unfortunately the tone was also feather-light and traded it away. since then, alder has been a friend of mine.

My q5 is pretty light, 8.8lbs according to the TBer I got it from. Not as light as my Lakland though, but perfectly manageable, and it is an alder body.

That is what I was thinking.. My Q5 is just at 10 pounds and my Q6 seems much lighter

Jesus, I'm so happy Modulus is back!! But also kind of sad that I no longer can say "I've got one of the last 10 or so basses Modulus ever made"

I don't even know what to think.. I always just want to think that my Modulus' are unique even though I know they aren't. Seeing them like this is almost as bad as catching your parents in the act.. (Sorry for that.. could not think of anything more appropriate)

I myself dig the sparkle, but not sure for how long.

My Q5 is that "honey burst" finish, and I'm debating getting it refinished... Hmmm...

And is that nekkid body alder or ash?

I like the bass just fine- excellent shape, nice and light, great quilting on the top too. Just not 100% on the finish though.

I'd probably try and trade it before I got it refinished though.

The fact that Modulus is back is ruining the worthiness of my bass... It's no longer one of the last 10-or-so bass and no longer the only bass, other than Fleas bass, that has the flat black finish! Oh well, still glad they're back!
