Modulus Mob

That looks like a photoshop of a Modulus...like they are putting that picture up to get someone to order it and THEN it will be built
It looks good to me regarding the serial number. But what makes me agree with you is that the bass has "Modulus tuning machines" and not the Gotoh GB7's as on mine and the sunburst sold recently. They ran out of their own tuners and started to use GB7's before they closed. But they could of course have black ones remaining and only chromed were out of stock...

I guess that is the whole problem is that none of us really know what they have, had or was sold. Also, if they went into bankruptcy, how do they get away with using the Modulus name?? Someone would have had to pay for that?? I mean, there is just some sort of craziness going on that most normal people who have been in business would question, unless of course it is new old stock.

Looks like Modulus is in fact back in business. I just got off the phone with Tony, owner of Planet Bass, and he confirmed that they're building basses again. He teamed up with Modulus' master builder, Joe (forgot his last name), and they're slowly getting things off the ground. There is limited production right now, but he confirmed that a few Quantum's and Funk Unlimited's are already in the works. As a previous poster mentioned, the basses will be a little pricier but in line with current material cost. There is also only one luthier, as far as I know, so labor will also be more expensive. Tony mentioned there is a lot in store for the future, including a lot more custom configurations as well as focusing on R&D (he mentioned experimenting with titanium). Production will be limited but they plan to keep everything domestic. Hope this clears things up.

Just bought my first 5 and its a quantum w Bart's. Love it!!
Can anybody recommended strings?
I really like DR nickels btw- just wanna make sure I order long enough strings. It appears to have 45-130 strings on it, not sure what brand tho.
